This keeps repeating. The pattern is obvious – small amount of good, legit sales to build up rep, then sudden burst of really really cheap items with infinite quantity. And people keep falling for it.

You are right.. it’s not the first time this happens but remember that some people actually received their lights, in the case of that $100 Fenix TK75 the seller actually drop shipped the real light and was a much more expensive product and not a brick or gave out a fake tracking number.

These scam shops operate normally until it’s time for the magic show, so things are safe if we are still in the period of time where he is building up rep.

My first thoughts about the pricing was possibly they are factory seconds, if there is such a thing, or it is most likely another knock-off of Nitecore’s hard work. The reason I say that is I had just received my Nitecore Digicharger D4 this weekend and stumbled on a thread announcing fakes hitting the market. It turns out thankfully mine is legit, Wink and man was I relieved. I bought from a reputable supplier and had no reservations making the buy.

I have to admit I was tempted to buy this light but thought I can live easier without another light than without gambling $25 on a long shot.

I also noticed that while the # sold in 24 hours has gone up in the last 2 hours, the number available has remained constant at 10. Just a thought.

Buyer beware

Nitecore flashlights have s/n imprinted on the head of the light. You can send the s/n to the factory for verification. Not sure about all their flashlights, but he MH20 also have Nitecore imprinted inside the bezel.
When it come to quantities remaining, “More than 10 available” means they still have over 10 units available, it could be 20, 50 or 100, this will keep showing until the quantity drops below 10, once this happens it will automatically start the count down to: “Only 9 or 8 or 7 remaining” and so on until they’re all sold out, then it will show: “This item is out of stock” – This goes for any auction listed on eBay selling large quantities of the same product.

I would like all of you to know that I have received a couple of shipments that got lost and were reshipped from manufacturer with prices and lets just say that if you knew what their cost was you would be getting on a plane and flying over there to kick someone’s ass. Based on the markup I calculated on my other orders That MH20 costs around 18 dollars, and Im not talking about the manufacture cost. Im saying thats what they sell if for to their distributors. So all it takes is some guy from china trying to cut out a middle man to make a couple bucks and deals like this really do exist. But as always all the scammers can make it difficult to find these deals when they are happening. Be safe! No pain no gain. Order me one too! lol

Ive played the Chinese “to good to be true” game at ebay dozens of times for many years. Its probably 1 in 12-15 that come through from Chinese purchases while the rest are scams. But I always get a refund when the product doesn’t show up. IMO, if you can afford to float the money for up to 60 days (usually far less), then go ahead and gamble. Paypal protects us. As far as paypals business model is concerned, they simply dont care about the thousands of Chinese scams that show up on their site. A PP supervisor told me that Chinese originating accounts are by far the most notorious for these types of scams, but Ebay makes obscenely massive profits through their customer base to offset the bad transactions. In other words, ebay rewards chinese scam artists, so they will always be present unless ebay changes their policies

While Im sure Im contributing to someones chinese new year beer drinking fund, I bought a few lights to see if they arrive. If not… oh well! I’ll file my PP dispute and retrieve my money. Of course I already know this is another scam for all the reasons already mentioned. If ebay doesnt care, then either do I. Big Smile

Big Smile Big Smile So PP is already providing refunds for the chinese scam account but has done nothing to stop them from continuing to sell.

I already told Ebay that the listing is back, and at a higher price.

Wow, they closed the case on April 4, 2016. How’d they do that … with a time machine? Wink

Well, looks like the auction is over. Another 50 sold. Probably all of them to members of BLF

Let’s see if eBay remove this listing like they did with the first one.

I think the buyer canceled the original listing, not eBay. Otherwise, the buyer’s account would have been suspended.

Not sure why the buyer did that, though.

If he made a mistake in pricing the original at $22.99, why bother upping the price to $25.99? Why not, say, $27.99 or 29.99?

Canceling the original listing for $3.00 of incremental profit doesn’t make sense to me.

Good thing they ran out because I’m dumb enough to roll the dice, since Paypal would back me up. Silly

Haven’t heard anything from the seller. The seller has gotten positive feedback as recently as 2/1.

Ditto.

Sent two messages to the seller. One yesterday. One today. No response.

I suppose there’s nothing to do now but wait and see if I missed a great deal or saved myself some frustration.

Another ebay member – 5-44522 – had the same MH20 deal. I knew it was too good to be true. And I still bought one on January 22:D The same day listing was removed and member marked as “No longer a registered user”. It only took a couple of hours for Ebay to refund.

Edit: Just checked. The deal I tried was better. 19.99USD for MH20 + 3400mah battery + belt holster.

Somehow this seller “4.04638” is not selling anything anymore…

But since the seller marked my “Nitecore MH20” as shipped, I have to wait until the estimated shipping time is over to file a PayPal dispute, right?

You never know, this ebay seller could very well be legit. Many GB’s have a 50% off deal, and the dealer is still making money. This ebay seller in China may have a connection with nitecore and purchasing these at rock bottom wholesale. Also, nitecore may be dumping, prepping for a new model. None of this would surprise me.

He actually has 2 active auctions. One is for an XTAR VC4 battery charger and the other a Sky-Ray flashlight. I’d say you all have a fair chance of getting your products. He’s already sold 246 of the Xtar chargers, plus he’s been selling on eBay for at least a year with 384 positive feedbacks against 1 negative in the past year. The negative could have been a faulty product.

Many of the people who are providing feed back have pretty significant feedback profiles themselves, which would be difficult to fake.

Personally, I’m just make sure that I’m in compliance with eBay/Paypal policies regarding filing claims within allowable time limits, then wait around for either good news or the time limit to expire.

Other than that, we can play the “what if” game until the cows come home and still not know one way or the other until either the time limit passes or items appear.

In any case, best of luck. Looks like it could work out to be a killer deal.
