Klarus G30 with MT-G2 for $55.35 with free shipping from Gearbest

Gearbest is offering the Klarus G30 for $55.35 with free shipping in what they call a “Flash Sale”, so I do not think that they will maintain this low price for long:

The Klarus G30 uses a Cree MT-G2 that purportedly puts out 2450 lumen. This compact flashlight, 5.28 inches long by 1.87 inches in diameter, has a switch on the side and another on the tail cap. It uses three 18650 batteries and there is a battery level indicator. On Amazon they are about $100, but other Chinese sellers are offering them for around $65.

I am not associated in any way with Gearbest or Klarus, other than having just ordered this flashlight from Gearbest.

It asks for an XH-P70.
Nice price!

It’s currently $52.49 http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_279583.html?utm_source=Criteo&utm_medium=CPCUK&utm_campaign=Displayads&vip=81406

My god, this forum is costing me so much money! I really want this but I just can’t do it.

Wow! Nice mode spacing! Go Klarus! I’d love to buy this but am already in CC debt ;( grumble grumble.

Just ordered the G30 from Gearbest! My 1st Klarus light looking forward to it!

Ok, stuff it. I just ordered it too.

Mine came in last week. Very nice light. Has a good honest 180 -200m throw with wide spill using fully charged 3500mah KeepPower cells. I could make out a chain link fence that was 200m away. It is a solid heavy light that distributes the heat well.

I like the lockout feature. Any flashlight or headlamp that goes into my pack must have a lockout feature. I have pull too many dead/weak flashlights out of my pack over the years. No more.

I intended this light to be used for recovering game animals at night and I think that it will do that nicely. I wish there were RGB lens filters available for it. If I can't find some that fit I will make some out of PVC pipe and lamp filters. I want to get as close to 415nm as I can to help with finding blood.

I will make a case/holster for it to protect the lens while it is in my pack.

Can one use unprotected 18650s in the g30?

Klarus recommends protected.

It is a 3S configuration so I went with protected cells.

Bob

I’m lookin forward to getting the G30. Ordered through BANGGOOD. Now the wait…… Gives me time to get some protected cells from mtn elec.

The wait is always the hardest part when you order from China.

I currently have the KeepPower 3500mah batteries in it.

I have ordered these to try.

Battery

Both are Protected Panasonic/Sanyo NCR18650GA cells.

Bob

I only use NCR18650BD or NCR18650B unprotected and the flat top, the same as in K40M.

The age of protected ended for me many years ago.

Ok, that’s good news as I have some 30q batteries on order. Unprotected button top.

At this point I prefer the protected when I have multiple batteries in series. That may change as time goes on.

I asked the Klarus rep on CPF what they recommended:

  1. Both flat top and button top 18650 are works for G30.
  2. We recommend protected batteries.

Klarus

I imagine that protected batteries is what most manufacturers recommend do liability reasons.
