What is the story with the “Batch 2” (with firmware corrections)?
What was corrected or changed and how does a person know which one to get or which one they will be getting?

Also I can’t use aliexpress. It doesn’t work on my computer. Where else can I buy one?

If the group buy is on Amazon, will it still ship slow boat style from mainland China or is there already a supply present in the US for prime shipping?

I think most things come on the slow boat, but some have been shipped in advance and stored in a warehouse here in the states. For this, I’m not sure it would be any faster to ship it to a warehouse first. Amazon fulfillment is pretty awesome though, so it might.

The link wasn’t properly formatted. Try this spreadsheet link instead.

I’m rooting for Amazon as many of us have reward points to offset the price even further Silly

I admire you Lux-Perpetua - you have made the LT1 manual great and on time!  Most people have no idea how difficult it is to do what you have accomplished! Thank you!

Thanks for your kind words ActiveAI. Smile But it's a collaborative success with everyone's contribution. BLF and this very lantern here are some of those outstanding examples proving that collective work can bring up great things to life. We should not forget to say 'thank you' to Sofirn for listening to the voice of the customer and for building this amazing lantern.

As with many things, once done it looks easy. But when the drawing board is empty, or the page blank, it's really different. And it takes special experience to note it, congrats to you ActiveAI.

Great job to everyone involved!

I have incorporated most of your suggestions and rectified all typos you have found out. I have uploaded this new revision onto your working folder for the French translation. I have also put you on the credit list as part of the team (I hope DBSAR & the team won't mind) Wink

The new revision is also uploaded to the public shared folder, see link in the OP of this thread for further information.

Sofirn will receive the final (I mean it! Big Smile ) revision of October 8, 2019 by tomorrow, so chances will be good to get it together with batch #2.

Seeing it might be a tight fit on the schedule, you can also send them my current version of the french translation. Litteraly only 2 paragraphs remains untranslated (for which I have opened questions). Of course I might still find my own typos, or add little tweaks, etc. Like for sure I will need a proofreading session to consider the job fully done.

But as something like 98% (and it's a conservative figure) of the manual is translated, I believe it's quite better than nothing for all the french-speakers that will be in the firsts to order the LT1.

Depending on your discussion with Sofirn, you can also tell them they are offered the alternate option to wait a few more hours to get an industrial grade 100% done french translation. I'm quite positive it can be done today.

And thanks for the credit, I'm glad to be part of that Smile

Ouch. The price is almost that of a Fenix CL130R. Since I already own that, I can’t justify the price on the LT1.
Not really since the price you’re seeing on Sofirn’s AliExpress page is not the BLF discount price which is going to be around $50 (depending on options of course).

Edited to say that amishbill beat me to the punch Smile

$50.00? Now that is far more palatable.

I didn’t post that link but this is the correct link to the Interest list by name file and this is the link to the Interest list by entry number file.

It’s not too late and I added you for 3. You’ll see this reflected in next Sunday’s updates to post #1 and the linked files.

Can it hurt to go +2 and hit an even 10?
I’m going to assume the window to redeem these group buy codes will span at least 2-3 paychecks….
(yes, that means go +2 and hit an even 10)

The firmware updates are relatively minor and I bet that for most people they would never know the difference. I bet that most people will just set the tint to what they like and then ramp/step to the level of brightest that they need at that moment in time.

There will also be other options besides AlieExpress so I wouldn’t worry about that.

It can’t hurt to go even more than 2! Plus……10 puts you into a tie for the most LT’s with 2 others. Sure you don’t want to order another 5 or so Crazy

Good Sir,

I humbly implore you to have a modicum of mercy upon me, for I have just ordered another 100 batteries to wrap and have no more nickels to rub for warmth. Hat

For anyone asking or thinking if it’s too late add 1 or more lanterns…the answer is no. We’ll continue to add to the interest list until Sofirn says no more and they haven’t given any indication of doing that.

Everyone who is in my database will receive a PM as long as their user name is correct in one of the files linked to in post #1.

With one very specific exception, button top only.
