Ok, I have won a couple giveaways here on BLF so I thought I would return the favor. My birthday falls in March and it seems that I have a lot of friends that share the same birth month of March.

I have decided to give away one of my Defiant Super Throwers for my birthday. The light is stock, that could be a good thing for somebody that wants to mod it or it could be a bad thing for somebody that doesn’t know how to mod. I am one of the ones that doesn’t know how to mod.

Here are the rules:

  1. You must have been a member of BLF prior to March 1, 2016
  2. You can only post once in the entire thread. Any questions, send me a PM.
  3. This giveaway is open worldwide. It is up to me how the light gets shipped if it should leave the United States. Any address outside the US and the light will be removed from the packaging and shipped without the batteries.
  4. This one is optional, but much appreciated - Tell me how you would mod this light in your post. I have quite a few of these lights that I picked up when Home Depot was clearing them out and I would like to try modding one myself.
  5. This giveaway ends March 31, 2016 at 11:59pm central standard time. The drawing will be done sometime on April 1, 2016 by random.org.

I would search for threads on BLF and see how its modded. Though i would need an iron first to do it

XPL HI 5B4, some kind of buck driver, 2x26650. No, I haven’t checked if any of that will actually work yet.

I had plans on modding my convoy s2+ with triple xpl just unsure of methods on heatsinking

Hmm, probably would mod with 2x26650, buck driver and dedomed XP-G2. Make that thing a serious thrower for sure! Count me in too!

Not in as I have several DST’s. Just wanted to say this is a great giveaway. Really awesome light with an appropriate name. Happy Birthday!

I would leave it un-modded and keep it in the car.

Not sure how I would mod it myself, but my B-day is in March too!

After some research, I notice that it can be modded with a buck driver and 2 x 18650s, so that is the route I’d take.

Happy b-day, mine was the 1st, my grandmothers the 4th, and my dad’s the 22.

Whole bunch more we have going on (anniversaries and extended family b-days) in march, so much so we just celebrate on a weekend in the middle for everything.

If I won I would most likely give it t dad or my son so they will quit stealing my lights for a little while.

I would DD it with a dedomed XP-G2 S4 and spend a lot of time trying my best to focus it properly.

The DST is on my flashlight bucket list.

Man is this an exciting giveaway, I managed to get exactly one DST when they were available, and mine has a reflector that refuses to focus properly. I tried to remedy that, and it didn’t work, maybe made it worse. Now I can’t find one that is reasonably priced when I check ebay.

I’d mod it with a finalized version of the 2p battery carrier I started making, a fet+1 driver, pick up some solid copper or aluminum rod to fill in the cavity in the pill, and finish the tailcap switch modification I started so the light becomes a shorty version by removing the switch area. That’s all. Thanks for the opportunity!

This is a great idea for a giveaway.

I would put in a dedomed XP-G2 and a single mode driver, but need to do some research on how hard to drive it.

since has the name thrower i will go dedomed xp-g2 or xp-l hi on copper for driver i will see if i can mod the stock ,i will keep the flashlight working with alkalines.

I’m in. I looked for these at my local Home Despot and they had none. I have no modding experience but certainly would like to try sometime.

One of the great lights I never got my hands on. Would read a BLF thread on how to mod since I have no idea at the moment.
