which current 14500 battery/supplier?

Am after 14500 batteries - my readings here suggest Sanyo’s are well-regarded. Where is a good supplier of these? Am in the UK, so it’s easiest from an EU supplier but am happy to wait ages for a Chinese supplier if much cheaper. Where is recommended?

And a (related) question: would they work in the cheap Ultrafire’s that are around (e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121805475118?\_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT ) without blowing them up?

If so I assume they’ll run a bit brighter and a lot hotter?

thanks!

Just ordered a couple of efest 14500’s from this Dutch website:

http://www.oliespuitje.nl/en/7725378/efest-imr-14500-3-7-volt-flat-top-battery-700-mah

If you order more then one they are only 2.50 euros each (not 4 euros as the text says). Not sure what shipping costs are outside NL.

€9.95 shipping to uk…… ouch……

bump - no more advice?
other brands? brands to avoid?

Unsure about the Chinese shipping situation at the moment but I have used the nitecore and keepower cells for years in the sk68 clones and such without any problems. No problem with hotnes and yes they are brighter. There are rumors that some of the 3mode drivers were only one mode drivers after using a 14500 in them(maybe they would have failed anyway…)
It’s neccesary to use protected cells in such lights because they can empty the cells to a very low voltage(1V…)
The performance from the cells is not much different but the nitecore positive side is not very raised, so in some lights that makes a problem.

Inside the cells are mostly Chinese cells but they perform very well. There seem to be Sanyo keepower which probably have written “Japanese cell” and not just “IC chip made in Japan”
There was once a big hassle because of not very accurate labeling…anyway all cells perform good enough.

I ordered red trustfire IMR’s from Fasttech. They haven’t arrived yet, but I’m hopeful
