ZL SC52 14500 batteries

I have Nitecore 14500’s for my SC52fw. They seem to not last as long as they should. When the ZL stops and I put them in the charger (Nitecore UM10) it reads 70%.

Will the SC52 series flashlights work with flat top unprotected 14500s? Those seem to offer the highest capacity. I’m thinking yes to the unprotected since it and all the other ZLs have built in protection. I can’t tell from looking in there if flat tops will work and I can’t find any info online.

The unprotected, flat top Sanyo UR14500P 840mAh Battery I purchased from RMM at Mountain Electronics certainly works perfectly in my SC52 L2. I notice he currently shows 3 in stock on the page linked below.

His remarks about the cell are: “Unless you need a constant discharge rate above 3A, the UR14500P is the best 14500 cell currently produced.”

That’s exactly what I was looking at. I wanted to check so that I didn’t end up with cells that don’t fit in a light. Then I would end up buying another light.

And this is a problem?
