Thanks for the review.
I got the Christmas edition last year, after some usage i found i really did not like the UI, especially having no memory so i changed my light to variable output using a QTC pill. It now does around 0 - 500lm with a turn of the head, although you’re right about the heat management of smaller ti lights using li-ion cells…
A good way to remove that sharpish keychain attachment is to fix a trit in there with uv glue.
Very cool, and looks like we’re on the same wavelength re: the wish list for the light. Will be pointing ThruNite to your post to emphasize that.
Looks like you cut off the corner and affixed the trit in the hole. Though I can’t see for sure but looks like it sits just recessed enough so as to not have any concerns of impact damage if dropped on that corner?
Thanks for the review. I just received this light and like it a lot.
I was wondering what emitter the earlier Christmas edition used?
@CRX: the trit mod looks interesting. Could you provide some details of how you accomplished this?
@MG - Original Ti edition used a regular XP-L in V4 output bin.
Yeah the glass tritium vials are very delicate so require physical protection. It’s not very clear from my pictures but it is a 6x1.5mm vial encased in UV setting glue. What i do is first use a little to set the trit in place then use more to completely encase it, using more than required. Once set i sand it down with fine grit paper to the lines of the light and finally polish it with polishing compound.
