So why the lack of respect for this project?

huh what lack of respect, if you are going to have a shot at me at least show proof.
That part was not aimed at you specifically. Only the first paragraph was meant as a direct reply. Sorry about the confusion.

And no, I’m not going to name anyone as that’s useless.

A debt of gratitude.

I went back and edited the post using your correction.

As I added:……..clearly I had a fixation (or a physical/emotional perturbation) from the playfully erotic, and more attractive Alexandra Wentworth at that time.
It was so bad, I never even noticed young Jennifer Lopez in the cast of dancers on Living Color back then.

But seriously, people may have somewhat shorter fuses than usual with all the stuff happening outside BLF lately… it seems like the whole world is on edge. Hundreds of people waiting together in a cramped space like this is going to cause some friction even on a good day, and there have been a lot of not-so-good days lately.

So as a general guideline, any time you are faced with a decision of whether to escalate or not, please take a deep breath and choose not to escalate unfortunate situations. Strong opinions can be very satisfying to express, and they can attract a lot of attention, but they tend to be divisive and cause conflict.

If you must get frustrations out, direct them toward Moloch, the incarnation of the system itself. Because almost no one is evil; the problem is that almost everything is broken. It’s almost never malicious intent which causes our problems but, rather, the systems in which we live. In almost any complex multi-person system, the system acts according to its own chaotic incentives that don’t necessarily correspond with what any individual within the system wants.

Now, in a relatively small system, individual efforts to go against the flow are important. A few people swimming upstream can have a significant impact on the overall flow of the system. However, in larger systems, individual efforts are mostly irrelevant. The flow will follow the shortest path toward the incentives regardless of individual attempts to divert it in other directions. It does what Moloch wants, not what the people trapped in the system want.

As the thread grows, and as BLF grows, we keep bumping into Moloch in new ways… and we keep having to come up with new solutions for that. The lessons learned here will surely help future projects to run a little smoother, but for now please try to be patient and charitable toward each other.

Come to think of it maybe the blue tinted headlights I am thinking about may not even be LED’s??? I just know when an oncoming car has them they are blinding… to me anyway. Wink
Oh my. Your quite out of date aren’t you?

Most of the bright blue lights you see are HID kits that have retrofitted. These have been popular for the last 10 or 12 years ever since the OEMs started using them. People just toss them in and don’t readjust their lights. Or else the light source is not where it should be and it messes up the beam pattern.

Hmmmm, out of date? I don’t think so…… Shocked

Here is my newest model…….

Probably a bit out of date on the LED headlights. But not the HID’s.

That is why I included the codicil in the statement you quoted. My memory had started to rear it’s ugly head as I wrote that. Smile

That was some good headlight info you posted, thanks. Thumbs Up

I just know I cuss oncoming cars that have those stark blue/white headlights.
My horse dislikes them too. Wink

No DEL has yet to receive his
Will change title to 6 out of 7 next time I do the list

Thorfire said they can do the spring as we asked:
Or better, I asked for this:

1mm wire thickness
10mm diameter base
6 or 7 mm diameter top
12 or 13mm height

So everything is ready to go? Springs have been agreed upon and the firmware has been updated. I don’t think there where any other issues with these prototypes or am I missing something? So when PilotDog has played around with his light an DEL receives his and both don’t find any issues it’s a go right?

Another on topic question;

Can anyone explain why you would need more then 1 Q8?

I was thinking to subscribe for another one, just because it will be such a great and good light (just because it is possible!), but i have only 2 hands, so what are people with more then 2 going to do with it?

Give as a present for friends or relatives?

Hoping for some additional information!

Once in awhile, the Miller! OK, we had it, now how do we pass the time? How about we just glare at each other through the silence? Smile

ROTFL! I loved the levity Blinker but not everyone will.

Stop smiling! You’re not here to enjoy yourselves! (according to that POM supervisor written of above somewhere, BTW, that’s almost a direct quote from her)

Hey, I know! We bought an Amazon Fire TV stick yesterday. I was told “Buy the stick and there are all sorts of shows and movies available, you can probably drop Netflix.”. Well, yes and no, mostly no. There are shows available, but it’s one show of a 3 season tv show. I didn’t see any free movies of any worth. But Netflix is costing me $30+ every month and the good movies mostly don’t stream but are only on DVD. I’m testing a 30 day trial of Amazon Prime for $11/month and the streaming movies look to be good ones. Plus the smart TV was the pits with Netflix. The movies would take forever to load. If paused they might never resume. I had no love affair with it. The stick makes Netflix operate as good with streaming movies as they run on my computer. So keep Amazon Prime or Netflix, the stick makes our “smart” TV finally fulfill it’s promise. Oh, YouTube! That would be the thousands of free movies (videos). I saw no others. It is nice to see youtube videos on the big screen though.

Did I miss something? Or not?

I’m considering getting a Roku for local TV stations when the atmosphere doesn’t cooperate. Anyone with any Roku experience? I have a few more HDMI ports that I can use if Roku will get my wife her game shows and us our local news and weather when we want it instead of when the atmosphere tells us we can have it. No I won’t pay for cable; they want far too many $ monthly for junk channels that I’ll never watch.

Well, I want one to use, one as a spare or in case the wife wants one, and one for a brother who I want to give one to as a sort of payment for something he says he intends to do. But he’ll get cells and a charger as well.

I’m also doubting in getting a 2nd one just for modding and leave 1 as stock. But another $40 + extra cells is pushing it for my budget. I guess I’ll wait until I have one in my hands and then decide if it’s useful to get a 2nd one.

Roku – I don’t have one, but a friend of mine has had one since they first came out and has upgraded to newer versions as they became available. He loves the Roku and recommends it to everyone. I just don’t watch TV, so a bit of Netflix and a movie rental place down the street keep me covered. Occasionally, I go to the local cinema to see something “on the big screen”.

I’m signed up for 3, one because I have to, one to mod and one for my daughter/son-in-law as I’ve already sort of created the bug in their household. As far at the “mod” one goes, it might just get put away for a while and see what shakes with technology in the near future, upgrade it possibly as things progress. I don’t really have a soup can light. I know, right? But I bought an SRK clone as well as an M6 from Tom and gave them to my son-in-law and bro-in-law. I have an M6 I modified way back when, and I have a small Fandyfire Rook which has the appearance of a SRK but smaller, it’s got an SBT-70 in it now with Narsil so that’s about as close as I am to this light. Hoping I will have money for it when that time comes, might not actually be able to buy all 3, what with everything else going on these days. (I’ve gotten a $930 hospital bill over the past 2 months for my arm/neck mess and haven’t even had surgery yet!)

So much going on lately in BLF, so little monies to spread around…
