These made an appearance a few months ago and were gone in a matter of days. They were back today at my local 99-Cent Store at (you guessed it) 99 cents each. The sign says Limit 16 per customer but I bought 21 with no issues. Rated at 800 lumens, 2700-3000K. They had standard A19-type, and a sort of floodlight type as well. I didn’t buy a ton of them because I mostly use 75W or 100W incandescents in the house and it appears that the “60W-equivalent” is the sweet spot right now for LED household lighting. Anyway, there they are.
Other than one CFL and two incandescents, my entire house is on LED bulbs. I only buy from Costco or Home Depot, and so far only FEIT and Cree brands. With local utility rebates, each bulb has dropped to about $2-$3. For something that supposed to last me 20+ years, I don’t mind paying $1-$2 more each to ensure (hopefully) I got a quality product.
Having said all that, these sound like a great deal. If they last as long as claimed and don’t consume more power than advertised, I guess they’re worth a shot.
When the last round came through the Dollar Tree stores, I checked my local store repeatedly but they never stocked them. It looks like there are no .99 Only locations near me. I’m pretty well stocked up on the $2 60W equivalent Utilitech branded bulbs from Lowe’s though.
IamMatt, do you mind sharing which state you live in?
Well so much for BING search.
On my iPhone I did a search for “99 cent store only” and got this
Headed on over ready for some deals!
When I got there, this is what I found.
99 cent store PLUS
After checking again, with Google I found out that 99 cent only is only in the West. Closest store to me is a couple of thousand miles.
