Hi,
I’ve googled and asked more than once but it seems there is not much interest in this. Why?? I’ve been looking for a short tube for my H02 for a lot of time and now that I finally have one I’m using it a lot:

It’s the short tube from the Astrolux S1… but since the H02 has so short threads, the orings are way too far away as you can see from the pictures. That means no waterproofness and also collecting a lot of dust and garbage since the orings are greased (I also use it with my S1).

I’m wondering if we could spread the interest in this mod and create the demand for a custom tube GB… after all, there should be a lot of people owning this headlamp because of the previous group buy.
IMHO a short tube for this light makes a lot of sense: with the long tube is too bulky for many uses, with the short tube it becomes perfect for trekking and backpacking for example (and you gain the option to drop in primary CR123A if you run out of battery)

i confused this with the xtar 16430 h2 headlamp. so it already exists. but ya it is very usable, and lighter.

Thanks for the information. We can cut or trim down the threads of the tube to fit nicely.

sorry, I didn’t see your post. What do you mean? Unfortunately it’s not possible to cut the thrads of the S1 short tube, otherwise the battery won’t fit. But luckily it’s now possible to buy S1 spare long tuves, I have one of them on the way:

When it arrives I’ll try cutting it to size and join the two halves with epoxy

I found the original headband that came with my H02 to be too bulky and swapped it for something more suitable, but I’ve never found the light itself to be too big.
