Liitokala 26650

Are these batteries good are they imr?
I am going to buy l6 and need to power that bad Larry

I ordered a pair http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1PCS-LiitoKala-26650-50A-5000mah-26650-Li-ion-3-7v-Rechargeable-Battery-for-Flashlight-20A/32591381104.html on the 2nd of this month & will report back on their performance when I receive them in this thread OMFG! LiitoKala 26650-50A 5000mAh li-ions?

The price seems great. I want to order 4 batteries. I may do 4 of these. Unless keeppower is really much better I’ll get two keep powers instead.

I have unprotected KP 5200mah IMR, Basen 4500mah & protected Thorfire 5000mah INR”s, the Basens & Thorfires were very cheap compared to the KP”s.
I tested the KP”s out at a little under 5,200mah, the Basens at a little under the 4,500mah & the Thorfires a little over their 5000mah claimed capacity, all had low IR.
As I don”t have a light that draws more than about 5.5 amps I haven”t had a problem with any of these cells, although time will tell whether the Basens & Thorfires last as many cycles as the KP”s.
I am looking forward to the Liitokala”s arriving to see what they are like as for the price there is not a lot to lose & there are not many 26650 makers out there.
If they are really poor I have only lost $12 unless I want to bother with a claim as Aliexpress has similar buyer protection to paypal.

Thank you,
How many cycles do you expect from 26650 charged from 3.2-4.20

These are my first 26650”s & I have only had them in the last couple of months so it is hard for me to give an answer.
The way I looked at it was the most they would be charged would be once a week & if I only got 50 cycles that would be a year for $6.
In reality I might get 200-300 cycles who knows ?
Personally I think that cells are so cheap now that I am not really concerned about cycle numbers.
For example when I first started with Li-ions (18650) they were much more expensive than now & so I pulled quite a few from from lap top packs.
This year I have got rid of (recycled) my 16 lap top pulls & replaced them with Panasonic NCR 18650 B”s as they are dirt cheap (bought them at around $2.50-$3 each cell with some deals) & at 3500mah (tested at just under that) they are about a third more capacity than my best lap top pulls tested at 2200mah.
I now use them in all my lowish draw stuff

See here.

Cheers ^:)

So they don’t stack up against keeppower at all do they? 15amp max.

This is from HKJ”s review of the KP 5200 mah IMR”s “There is a fairly good tracking between the cell, but they do not deliver 30A, they are more in the 10A to 15A range.”
Also this from the same review “The cells works fine as unprotected high capacity cell, but they are not really super high current cells.”
So the KP”s are not really any higher amperage in reality.
The L6 only draws about 6A I think anyway doesn”t it ?

These are not presumed to be “high drain”. However, if at least do nice 10/15A discharge curves, they may be a nice deal.

Until now, all of the 5000+mAh 26650 cells I've seen tested plainly sucked.

Since no major OEM brand (Sony, LG, Samsung, Panasonic) seems to have the slightest interest in producing good quality 26650s, it seems we'll have to wait until some reputable not so big brand starts gaining some ground and recognition. For this to happen, however, we may need to focus our efforts on the actual manufacturers and not on any of this bunch of random rewrappers.

Who are them?

Heter is one. Shenzen BAK, which supposedly manufactures these, is another…

Cheers ^:)

Thank you all, I ended up buying the basens from the gb.
I hope that they are as advertised.
I think they are an imr composition

I have a pair of the newest version of the Basen”s, 90g weight & about 4300mah, & use them in my S70 & they work fine

Yes bella, I see no reason why the Basen should not work fine. According to my discharge tests both versions should do a good job in a S70 or L6.

Just received 4 pcs of Liitokala 26650 yesterday. Voltage around 3.82 V.
I will do capacity tests on 2 of them in the next days. Tests will be on 1A, 3A and 5A. 7A test is possible on request.

I ordered basens. I almost ordered liitokala but now price is higher

Where is the price higher? On Ali the price is $6.xx and on Gearbest 4 x batteries is $20.

myhken, price on GearBest is subject to an additional fixed $2 shipping fee; makes sense if ordering 2+ units.

Cheers ^:)

Right after the presale I looked at them and I really believe they cost more than that. I just looked, 20$ you are correct

I have received 2 pairs of these cells, one pair from Aliexpress & one pair from GearBest.
My test results for both pairs are here LiitoKala 26650-50A 5000mah 26650 - great first impressions :+1:

Thank you :+1:
