Testing 4 brands of AA NiMH batteries.

Hey folks I hope this makes sense in some way!

I ran some test on 4 different brands of AA NiMH batteries with a liitoKala Engineer 500 charger. I would rate theses figures at around 10% +/- Mah capacity the higher rating could also be true if you use the batteries fresh but once voltage falls back in to normal range Mah readings will become more realistic. Every NiHM will have a different resting voltage usually between the rated 1.20 volts and 1.50 volts around 1.3* volts. I guess i could also apply a load to the batteries and they will drop to normal levels.

Soshine (2500mah factory rated) tested @ 2383mah 1.47 volts 43mR (Did overheat these batteries one time) Unknown rated recharges per battery

Panasonic Eneloop (made in china) (white in colour) (1900 Mah factory) tested @ 2150 Mah@ 1.5 volts @39mR. Rated for 1900+ battery recharges per life cycle.

Ikea ladda (made in china) (2000Mah factory) tested @ 2221Mah $1.48 volts @45mR. Rated for 500 recharges per battery life cycle.

Amazon basics (black) (Eneloop/Fujitsu pro re-branded) (factory rated minimum 2400Mah) tested @ 2751 Mah @ 1.55volts @38mR. Rated for 500 recharges per battery life cycle.

I will cycle a set of ALDI cells and see how they do!

Thank you for this post and your work with this testing.

I am hoping our BLF community will soon find the newest real “Duraloop” NiMH white-top battery available at a good price.

Aldi cell’s, really? Go for it! Test them for us.

I am using Aldi cells for many years now, Top Craft Ready To Use cells are good.

Even the Tronic 2300mA Ready To Use cells (sold by Lidl) from 2 years ago are still very good.
But last week they sold 2400mAh AA Ready to use cells, en these are very bad.
The Refresh/Analyze results with the Maha Charger: 1149mAh, 1214mAh, 1184mAh and 1140mAh.
That is terrible for “2400mAh” cells.
The new 2400mAh cells are also much lighter than the older 2300mAh cells (108gr/4 for the 2300mAh and only 74gr/4 2400mAh cells).
