Gearbest ripped me off! Lesson learned, no Chinese for me again

Sorry this is my first post and I am very angry, and might well will be my last post… I am on phone, if I make any typo forgive me, I will keep this short.

I have been visiting this forum for two months and I am only checking frontpage and I saw gearworst posts all the time, it was like everything, everypost is somewhere at somepoint connected to gearworst and some others! I wanted to give them a try, I bought a couple of things worth over 200$ a few flashlights, battery, other things. I waited 15 days for them to ship and some of them never showed up, some came DOA, same stories I read elsewhere, they lied, their representatives are bunch of liars. They are not trustworthy, they say something and they do not honor it, it’s a long story I don’t want to get in details.

My question is:

1- Chinese vendors’ posts on this forum are everywhere, there are so many! Everything at some point connected to them, why are you letting them?

did you pay with Paypal? Try to get your money back that way.

while there are a few issues they seem to be in the normal range (1-2?). matches with my ebay experience overseas. I never had a DOA, products I received are 100 high quality, real and functioning.

Welcome to BLF
There is a lot of info how to deal with cs and play your cards right will get you resolutions

Bolting stable doors and all that - but a look at the dealer ratings is worth it before ordering

Gearbest is here : Rating: GearBest.com [AVOID]

e.g. I’m ordering an Android tablet from Fasttech now even though Gearbest has it listed $10.00 cheaper.

Because BLF was created to fill the void created on other flashlight forums that categorically banned all posts with links to Chinese vendors. Nobody will tell you that all of them are good, but they’re not all bad either. In the case of GearBest, it is very clearly labeled with an AVOID rating.

Come on, this story sounds too zig zag and vague
Check this:
I ordered and after 15 days some came, some DOA
OK now 15 days is pretty fast

I wanted to give them a try and ordered $200 after seeing how they lie, scam, are called gearworse?
Yeah that makes comlete and utter sense now does it

BTW what nice first line to post on BLF right
Sorry this is my first post and I am very angry, and might well will be my last post

Come on, specifics and we can help. details about timing, and we might help, this is just too vague and strange

Maybe I am just lucky but I have never really had an issue with Gear Best (or any Chinese seller for that matter).
There were a few hiccups here and there, like I ordered an Olight i3 and received a screen for a GoPro. I ordered a cool and neutral BLF Starry Light and one had a bad switch, I contracted them and Ric said he’d send me a new switch. (lol, come to think of it I never got a replacement).
I know others have had issues though, so I know the risks every time I place an order. I am sorry but I am with The Miller, something about this post just seems off.
If it is in fact legit, contact them and give them a chance to correct the issue.

I order two 18650 batteries from gearbest and they arrived 4 weeks after the day I order. I don’t recommend any chinese vendors if you need something asap

The last two years I ordered about 60 things on GearBest and only two times was a issue. GB tried to give me in the two cases a lower gift certificate then I payed, but after some writings they give me a full refund. I don`t trust your words, I think you are angry on GB and you want to pay it back. Sorry, this is not the right way.

Robert

No need to swear off all chinese sellers, just check the seller rating subforum. But a lot of members do post gearbest groupbuys, sales and junk, so it understandable that people would think they are just fine. Really gearbest appears to be the worst seller atm.

They take picture of all orders, ordered many times no problems so far.

You see all the Gearworst post’s and then spend $200 to give them a try! :confounded:

Me too.
The only problem was with a vendor on Aliexpress, but take refund after 40 days.

I just order batteries from Fasttech and a few more items i paid like $2 dollars for faster shipping i swear no joke 6 days to get to Australia! Ebay here had a 20% off sale so i ordered a fishing rod from BCF an Aussie company the item came from the other side of Sydney took 2 weeks!

I would have spent $500.00 to completely make sure I did not get what I ordered.

I have ordered a lot of items from Gearbest and had no issues. We’re talking about hundreds of dollars worth of flashlights and related items, I have never once had an issue. And I’ve ordered even more from Banggood, like well over $1000 worth, and again, always got what I ordered, always found it as represented, always in working order.

I have over 150 lights, I am not new here. I am happy with the Chinese purchases I’ve made to date. It really puzzles me when I see these posts, like the mailman loses a package and it’s suddenly all of China’s fault.

I’ve sent 2 packages back to China, one got lost over there and the other made it (the one that made it was DHL, $68 with a 30% discount coupon!)

I wouldn’t be to quick to condemn the OP. I’m more surprised when someone posts that they’ve had zero problems with Chinese vendors. Especially Gearbest. I order from all of them and have had problems with ALL of them. Gearbest just happens to be the worst and requires the greatest relentless tenacity to reach a fair resolution.
I think anybody that is experiencing less than acceptable customer service from Gearbest should post about it. In reality you are doing them a favor by making them painfully aware of their failures. If you are not willing to go to battle when Gearbest screws you then DO NOT BUY FROM GEARBEST!

I’m not a Gearbest fan, I have had my problems with them i the past. For a long time I didn’t order from them, but the last three orders from them has been a very good experience. The order is shipped much faster and the shipping time to Denmark is less than a week.

There’s not too much difference between the Chinese sellers in general. You can have some kind of problem with any of them. Just be careful what you buy. I’ve gotten a lot of good deals. And if some day a pipe bomb arrives in your mailbox , well , that’s just part of the fun !! BOOM !!
But the bad customer service can really get you steamed.

Things that happen after the package has shipped are not the senders fault.
Mistakes get made by postal services, even thefts by postal services.

I have made over 20 orders from Gearbest and Bandgoodt this year. Not a single problem.
