Bulk Buy for Work - Cheap, rock-solid quality flashlight

OK Guys, I’m going to lean on you for some help!

I’m thinking of replacing all the lights for a security site, about 8 flashlights. We’ve got some lights that make Maglites look good….

I would like the following:

- CHEAP! Under 15 USD if possible!

- Rock-solid reliability. If these break, I’m on the hook….

- 18650 preferred, as we’re already setup for these.

- Floody! Throw is not a concern. If I can hit 25m, that’s plenty.

  • Brightness - I’d like to see at least 3-400 lumen, more if possible.

Any ideas? I saw the Convoy S2, that’s a definite contender.

Thanks everyone!

Saw the S2+ for 11-12?
8*15 - 120
120 / 12 = 10

buy 10 S2+
within budget and a couple to replace one if it fails, though they are pretty good and sturdy
(25 meters is no problem for them lol)

Oops I just noticed you said floody. All these are throwy lights… S2+ it is then

Black Convoy S2+
These should do you. And they are black and look cool! Simon even gives a discount through BLF if you msg him first.

Convoys in many different configurations plus parts can be bought at the manufacturer’s site. The owner’s name is Simon.
Just don’t cheap out on the batteries and chargers. These Convoys are great lights, but don’t expect a Porsche when you pay for a Pinto.

I’m new here, how does the number of 7135 drivers on a light make the difference?

Welcome to BLF

Simon can knock 15% off the price, so do the math.
1 thing is for sure it is so little difference between Simon and others in case of a S2+ a lot here do not mind paying that little extra to support Simon.

what about the 7135x4 x6 x8, what do those mean?

7135 are linear drivers. They produce around a third of a amp of current each. More drivers equal more light.

Buy from Simon. Buy a few C8’s also. They will come in handy. Lots of throw. 8* 7135 equals about 1000 lumens for the c8.

With 25M maximum range, I’d go with the S2 for a more concentrated beam or the S2+ for a little more flood. The C8 is a thrower. Convoy direct from Simon should be your source. He makes these so you’re guaranteed to get the real thing from him. Convoy quality is nearly legendary and he stands behind them should there be any problems (which there very rarely is).

If you buy from any “mega-store” at cheaper prices you could get fakes, and if you need warranty service then having good luck will be your only hope. The only one of these I’d chance is FastTech- I’ve bought several C8’s there and they’ve all been the real thing so far. I haven’t needed service but if I did I know there would be delays at best. Forget the other sellers- too much risk no matter how much you might save with them.

It’s your reputation on the line- what’s that worth to you?

Phil

As has already been said S2 or S2+.

If you are in the USA and want to get them quick, go to MTN Electronics .
He is a member here and the lights are the real deal.

Great people to deal with also. :+1:

I don’t think C8s are the way to go. He wants flood, not a tight hotspot for distance.

I love it when someone asks for one thing (flood) and people recommend the exact opposite (throw).

Convoy S2+ was the first thing that popped into my head as well but I don’t think the build quality is really anything special. It’s a good light but not designed to stand up to security guard type of work.

I’d spend a couple more bucks and get the new Convoy M1 over a tube light any day, with the OP reflector flood/throw, heat dissipating capabilities, these are Rock Solid IMHO, no need to worry about your back-side ever! http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Free-shipping-Convoy-M1-Cree-XM-L-U2-1B-2-Group-3-5-Mode-LED-Flashlight/330416_826041552.html

What about Thorfire VG10, that’s a solid flashlight, build like a tank.

Thorfire VG10

I think there is a code that brings the price down to $15

Don’t get them from gearbest imho

I was thinking about the Convoy M1 (rock solid build) with its OP reflector, but I discarded all my M1 reflectors for modding without ever trying them in their stock form, so I’m not sure what the beam is like, but since they’re shorter and narrower than C8 reflectors, I would assume a more pronounced flood.
