How’s that for a clickbait title? 8) But it’s completely justifiable and hardly an exaggeration. You see, I was targeted by a coordinated attack coming from BLF members that wanted to show me their generosity… and they sent a Meteor my way!
It all starts with a hopelessly nondescript box:

What a beauty. It’s SO SMALL! I was totally unprepared for the small size of this thing in real life. The holster is perfect, the anodizing color is beautiful… and the knurling!!! I have a real soft spot for fine, grippy knurling, and lemme tell ya, the Meteor is an absolute JOY to my tactile senses. Which is an especially good thing, given that I’ll probably only have my tactile sense left after becoming permanently blind by looking at the beam that this thing threw onto my wall! And that was in broad daylight next to a window. I can only image what a tiny monster this thing will be at night. It’s SERIOUSLY BRIGHT, and all 6700 lumens of that brightness are tinged with a beautiful 5000K 80+ CRI tint, my favorite! And another extremely thoughtful detail: When I found out that this Meteor was on its way, I was concerned that I wouldn’t even be able to power it on, since I don’t own 4 non-protected button-top 18650 cells. So imagine my relief when I felt the hefty weight of this little beast, and unscrewed it to find 4 safety-wrapped Samsung 25R INR batteries already installed!
Seriously, you guys totally nailed this one! Thank you SO MUCH for all of the generosity, planning, donations, and sheer kindness that went into this fantastic gift. As always, I am extremely indebted to all our fantastic BLF members.
OK, everyone look out your windows, because it’s nighttime now and I’m testing the Meteor. WHAT… A… MONSTER!!! The Turbo mode lights up the entire outdoors like a football stadium. And the (fortunately well hidden) strobe is so disorienting that I almost couldn’t manage to turn it off. Like somebody getting electrocuted that can’t let go of the cable. Unbelievable power and heat dissipation.
