It only took 6 years but I’ve finally logged one thousand posts!
Over the years I’ve learned so much here and still enjoy pouring over these threads about new lights, deals, mods and builds.
I’ve enjoyed the friendly, helpful atmosphere here that for me is a big part of what BLF is all about. I think one of the things I’ve enjoyed the most here was the “founding philosophy” of being able to discuss budget priced lights without any arrogant, snooty criticism. Over the years I’ve come to indulge in some higher end brands while still retaining an appreciation for many of the budget priced lights.
I’ve also enjoyed the ingenious (sometimes radical) builds and mods by the many uninhibited talented modders here, a place where their ideas are met with help and enthusiasm more so than ridicule or criticism.
It’s pretty amazing how things have developed here over the years, when I first joined in 2011 I don’t think any of us at the time imagined manufactures would finally listen to us and make stock lights pulling over 5A, hidden blinky modes, DTP boards or factory dedomed emitters, etc. etc.
So I want to say Thank You to all the BLF’ers and Mr. Admin for making all of this possible!
To show my appreciation and give back I’m considering doing a “+1000 posts giveaway” upcoming in the next month or two. I’ve never done one so I’m open to hearing any ideas or suggestions on that. I’ll have to do some research first on how it’s properly done, rules etc.
Congratulations on 1000 posts! You’re obviously not as talkative as me! I’ll soon be hitting 3000 posts and I have only been here a couple years!
There’s only one rule to do a GAW. Have fun! Wait, that’s not even a rule, just a suggestion. So, do the GAW however you want! Make sure you take into account any and all costs and/or restrictions involved if you open up your GAW internationally.
Someone that has better things to do with his time.

I think that is the most surprising thing to me also about BLF, and keeps me coming to see what they will offer next.
I see many GAW’s are CONUS only, I’ve never shipped anything out out of the US so I’ll have to look into the Int’l. shipping thing, and I guess certain countries are restricted. (?)

If you don’t have a specific light to giveaway, you could ask an international vendor to match your dollars. That will double the GW value and allow easy shipping around the world. Will also let the winner pick what they want.
