Will I hurt anything ?

OK, let me state immediately that my goal is to not hurt anything, nor do I want to turn my batteries into a bomb.

I received a Convoy L6 today and I’d like to try it tonight. I do not have my 26650s yet. If I use the spacers that came with my L2 in the L6 with virtually new Pana’ EVVA 3400mAH batteries I think I’m OK at lower outputs. But I’m going to want to see what it’ll do on the highest output. If I put it to the highest output will I hurt the batteries if I only use them for a short time at that output?

Comments are desired. Am I OK or is it a dumb idea? Will I even see what the light will do or will that only be seen after I put the 26650s in it? BTW, the 26650s that will arrive on Monday are Basen IMR 26650s. High-drain cell rated at: 3.7v, 4500mAh, & 40A continuous/60A pulse.

TIA folks.

It will be fine to run those. The worst that can happen it will trip the protection circuit.

Thanks Solar.

Edit:
Once as a test was enough. The batteries warmed up and I don’t like warm Li-ion cells. Tomorrow the 26650s will be here and the light, the batteries, and I will be much happier with them in the light. BTW, it really sucks the “juice” out of 18650s. Just a few minutes and I decided to let things cool off, along with the batteries, before charging the cells. At the start of the test they measured 4.07v and when they went into the charger they measured 3.8x v. The light didn’t run on max’output for very long.
