Finally a member!

Hello everyone! Been lurking for a long time, and decided I couldn't just stand outside without trying to contribute myself. So here I am.

27 years old, Swede, have not yet admitted my flashaholic tendenices.

In this picture: JETbeam Jet-I PRO v3.0, WW, OP, L91. And me. Not wearing make-up, I'm a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter and my black eye is from the mat (not trying to impress anyone, just wanted to clarify the make-u...uh.. the black eye).

OK, so the JETbeam might not be considered a budget light. However, what you can't see in this picture is my girlfriend with my Romisen RC-I3 2xAA, the Nite Ize LED bulb (in a 6 D-cell Maglite, big backup in our 'base camp'-pack), my Romisen RC-29 (backup in my pack), my Fenix E05 (backup in my pocket), and my girlfriends no-brand 1xAAA backup light.

I'm positive I'll have an even richer experience on this forum now that I have registred! And the welcome I got in that knife thread, awesome guys :D, you rock!

Welcome Endy!

Welcome to BLF, Endy

You should try getting some powerful flashlights, like the DRY 3*XM-L, to take advantage of the cold climate.

I'm trying to stay clear from all battery types that I can't find in the nearest super market :), I'm not really a survivalist, but I'm close enough to focus on availability. I do collect Lithium Primaries, AA and AAA, 1,5 v.

I see you are more of a primary guy. No NiMHs?

Since you mentioned about primaries there's always the possibility of using 2 x CR123A instead of one 18650 in many flashlights. Yeah, but in general not in the cheap ones

I do use NIMHs (or South Korean Eneloops, Ebay). I just prefer lights that can be used with common batteries. I was in southern Portugal earlier this year and needed batteries to two of my lights (found some wonderful caves). There wasnt even a supermarket to go to so I had to slaughter 2 remote controls for AA and AAA batteries! Thats value to me :)!

I'm afraid Lion batteries will spoil me and that I will start to find my AA and AAA lights output to be silly :).

Probably :)

I do have the Fenix TK41 on my wishlist though :). But I like the idea of having the option of using a lot of different battery types. If just someone could start making Lithium 1,5 v D-cell primaries..

Welcome sir. I know how lurking goes.

Welcome aboard Endy, I hope you enjoy your stay here.

Lithium batteries were a revelation, I resisted for a while but once I got a couple I became hooked. The power is incredible and buying batteries once and recharging them 100s of times is nice also.

Welcome to BLF, Endy! Sounds like your next light should be an Ultrafire MCU-C88. I'm slowly but surely becoming an AA convert due to easy availability if things go south for God knows what reason. I'm thinking the MCU-C88 is on my shortlist these days. Most likely for Christmas if not sooner.

Welcome Endy. The MCU-C88 sounds like a good suggestion. What does the other guy look like?

Welcome Endy. I bet the guy you beat up looks worse

Welcome Endy!

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I'm trying to stay away from alkalines and I only use lithium primaries (the 1,5 v kind) in my JETBeam and in my Romisen RC-29 (use it as a bike light). But I want to be able to use alkalines when/if I have too. Being used to the superior li-ion batteries scares me of a bit, but I know I'll get there soon enough :). Just started looking into CR123 primaries lights right now! Also, I'm a runtime guy.

I'll look into the lights suggested! How big is the MCU-C88? I've got really short fingers and stubby hands (its like two fists), and a D-size light is my upper limit for feeling comfortable.

Sadly to say, the other guy looks OK. I wasn't even fighting him! I was fighting next to him when he got stuck in a choke, so he did a flip to try to get out. His foot landed in my face. Last time the same thing happened I broke my nose .

Welcome to BLF!
