Hi from Portland, Oregon, USA.

Hi everyone. Found the BLF when looking up info on some 18650 & 26650 Convoy flashlights to add to my old Surefire 3 cell and Streamlight Scorpion that both use the 123 liIon cells. Ended up on a real ride…new BD06, M2, C8 (2) and S2+ (2) on the way with a charger and various batteries. Yes, well I actually do have uses defined for all of them. lol I nearly ended up with an L6 too, but keep going back and forth between that and the L2. Time will tell. Still learning about the electronics and battery differences. Very interesting and should be fun. Anyway, nice to be here. Seems like a nice bunch. I mod a pipe smoking forum so appreciate the robust site and helping attitude. See you around.

Welcome to BLF! Hope you enjoy your stay!

You can save yourself the trouble of having to choose one or the other: get BOTH! :smiling_imp:

It's good to have you here, Blackhorse!

Thanks guys. You know, even after reading a bazillion posts re both the L2 & L6 I can’t figure out the big difference…other than that the L2 comes as a single and dual cell design and the L6 is only a dual cell. I know it must be in the electronics, etc. But at this point I need another college Physics class to start figuring it out. lol

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to BLF!

The default/stock LEDs used are the main difference
L6 uses a XHP70 (basically 4 leds put together) that requires more voltage hence two cells in serie.
The L6 has a orange peel reflector (those four leds in the XH70 are not squeezed into one big so the little diffuse reflection “hides” the cross between the leds
The L6 has the springs bypassed from factory and is stock an extremely powerfull light with a nice flood.

Maybe the L2 is nice for modding but stock the L6 is ready to go if one is up for a light with cells in series.

Have you checked out some demo footage on youtube? Convoy L2 demo Convoy L6 demo

Eyeball…I had seen both of those before, but not back to back. Very helpful, esp seeing them used on the same property. So the L2 is more a spotter and packs it’s photons mostly into that narrow beam. The L6 has far more power and floods that power a bit more…like putting four L2 beams into a larger diameter beam than the L2. It’s like a .22 rifle vs a 12 ga. shotgun…or something. But yeah, thanks. The “field difference” was quite obvious. And the difference in cost is then due to all the parts that allow that level of beam power to occur…four LED’s and what drives them, etc. Got it. Brilliant. In the L6 vvideo, I think I noticed one of those fawns starting to steam slightly. Hmmmm. Smoked venison. Or good for drying wet socks…melting the odd wicked witch? Whatever. Obviously a must have.
