Skilhunt H02 at GB for $26.99

This is a nice headlamp that is available in NW which is my choice for sure. The bad is having to order from Gearbest. Good price on a great headlamp though.

Their web page says $22.99 when you do a search but then it jumps to $26.99 when you click on it. If you try to apply the 8% coupon code it becomes $38.85. LOL! Ships from China.

I’ll just use Banggood because they have a Canadian warehouse for a little more with the group buy but at least I will probably get it sometime this year. Lol.

The problem with this one is the poor ui requiring you to hold to turn on/off.

Yep, I hate that. I have one that I use at work and that’s my main complaint. I do like the tint in the NW and the decent amount of flood. It seems to run forever on a 18650. I haven’t done any tests but it is without question more efficient than my Spark SD-460NW plus it’s brighter. It also costs about a quarter to a third of what the Spark costs. It’s a good budget headlamp. I don’t recommend Gearbest though. I’ve had too many bad experiences from them.

Why do bad UIs still exist anyway? Who ever wanted a light of any sort that required you to press and hold to turn off or on? Manufacturers should just drop that idea completely.

The H15 I used for quite a while was much better than the Xtar H2 for turn off time.

I think the whole headlamp UI thing is overly complex and needs to be simplified. I put a moppydrv flashed 1A driver into my H2, and it was fantastic when I could get it to work. I used the 25, 70 and double click for 100% with a 30 second step to 50%. It died in a drop, as did the H15…

The flashing buttons and blinky modes could go by the wayside as well, with no loss felt to me.

Moved to an ArmyTek Wizard PRO V3 and the UI is great, but so many levels when I use 2 levels mainly. Single click with no hold for on/off is great though. The ArmyTek UI is easy once you use it, the best headlamp I have found so far.

The drop testing needs to be from at least 2 meters as well, where are these worn after all?

The lens looks like a diffuser (is this TIR?). I don’t see how it gets 820 lumens. Any comment?

I have the Armytek Wizard Pro. I bought it in cool white because I was impressed by lumin numbers and didn’t want to give any lumins up for NW before I became a tint snob. It’s a great light but I work around colored electrical wires and neutral tint makes seeing the blues and greens easier. I wish I got it in NW and I wish it was more floody. The Skilhunt is a bit more floody than the Armytek so I use it now instead. My Armytek and Spark sit at home and my Skilhunt goes to work with me everyday.
