Be Observant!

This won't be interesting for those of you not in the U.S. (and maybe not even for those who are)!

We all look at $20 bills all the time but I'll bet there are things you haven't noticed. I just tried out a UV light and a credit card magifier on a $20 bill otherwise I wouldn't have noticed these things either.

There is a strip that you can only see under UV light. It glows under an UV light. However there are other things that I've never noticed that don't require UV.

On the face of the bill in the upper corners is the usual $20 marking in white. The lower $20 marks however are actually in color (gold). The thing that I found unusual (and the reason for this post) are the little small flecks of gold scattered all over the left and right areas on the face of the bill.

If you look at them closely (I had to use a magnifying glass) they all are the number 20 in various orientations!

I'm lucky that there is an off-topic chatter forum as this is definitely off-topic and it is chatter.

I don't have $20 bill, can you send me one, please? :D

I'm more scientific in my approach so I'll actually require several 20's in order to establish a definitive conclusion ;)

:) !!!!!

But you live in USA, shouldn't be too hard to get $20 bills yourself :p

I'd like to give back to the BLF so please send me all of your $20 bills and I'll use my UV light and test all of them to make sure they aren't counterfeit. I don't mind doing this as a free service for all the useful advice I've gotten here.

If they are counterfeit I'll keep and dispose of them properly :)

U.S. currency is probably the least interesting currency out there , See if you can get your hands on some other bills to look at under U.V.

I'm sure lots of lights aren't lights not real UV they just call them that knowing that they aren't lying ...It does emit u.v. ..It's purple..close enough :P

Can you define $20.00 bill more fully?

Send me several and I will do Scientific Tests and report back.
