I just received 6 trustfire flame 18650s. This is the first time I have gotten a case with each pair. One was DOA but the rest were all in between 3.86v and 3.87v. I'm happy the voltage is consistent. Already sent a pic to dx. Not sure how that will help them though.
I got one dead 18650 flame out of 20 or so I bought from DX. The protection circuit was bad after carefully removing it the battery works fine. You can remove it very carefully and the cell should still be good or you can just chuck it I am sure DX will send you another one.
They seem very new to me I was surprised at the difference between my old and new ones. And who knows why they do anything overthere? Good to know about the 14500s. I'll be getting some more soon. I wasn't sure who I should buy the 18650s from. But I think I'm happy I went with dx. Don't really trust any of the cheaper places.
I know I could look it up. But what is IATA. And does that mean all over seas vendors will ship in nice little carrying cases? I think I like IATA. Maybe they make it mandatory to include a rechargeable with every light that requires them.
DX responded to my ticket. "Hi there is no item 18650 in your order .please check ." I guess they thought 18650 was the sku even though I clearly put the sku number too.
Such a classic response. Now it will be another 24 hours before they respond again.
The dead battery didn't wake up after putting it in the charger? It would read 0V if the protection tripped. Sorry if you know that already, just wanted to make sure.
It didn't wake up. It's hard to tell if it's at zero volts or something fishy is going on. When my DMM has no voltage it displays random numbers. But when I put the battery on the charger the lights blink. So I'm not sure what's going on.
Testing 2 new 18700 XTARs now. Have tested 8 DX TF Flames and they spread from 2250 to 2750ma. Most checked in @ 2400ma avg. Have 2 AW IMR 1600 they checked in @ 1650ma but are special purpose batteries not for general use. The best deal (USA) are the Ebay Tenergy 18650s 4@$14.99 free shipping. Checked 4 @ 2700-2800ma.
I have also bought the TNGY (48@$19.99) AA nimh 2300 they tested 1800+@1.0a draw. Yesterday received some TNGY 4/3AF 4200ma 1.2v nimh that are 18650 sized that are going through the break in process and are testing fine. The worst battery I have tested were Ebay Ultracell D nimh 11000ma that tested 3900ma.
