Meet my friend Bob and his new flashlight

My friend Bob stopped by with his new flashlight. He’s from the mid West but was here on the East coast for some training. He’s in the military. He brought along his new big light to show off. Here are some pictures.
As you can see it is “Milwaukee” brand. Here it lies at my feet.

My friend Bob has a thing for all things “Milwaukee”. Here is a picture of his truck

(just kidding, that’s the Milwaukee guy at Home Depot)
This light had plenty of heat sinking for the emitters

Count them, 10 emitters.

This is a HEAVY light, not easy to hold. You’ve heard of “cigar hold”, we call this “Bazooka hold”

Then there is what we call the “B.A.R. hold” (Browning Automatic Rifle)

Another angle

How about some beam shots!

I wish I knew how to do mouse overs with the new advanced text editor. These next 2 pics would be much more impressive.
Here is the control shot

The low modes are kind of boring, so I’ll only post “Turbo”

OK, so by now about 10% of you are thinking somethings not right here. And you would be right.
This is not a flashlight at all, it’s a worklight.
A couple of weeks ago, Bob and I went on a Home Depot shopping spree. We went down to Long Island and hit as many stores as possible looking for deals. This light is one that Bob found. List price is $250.00, but 1 store had it marked at $175.00. It happened that Bob didn’t see the sticker, so he brought it up to self checkout and it scanned for $125.00. Then he went to a manned checkout and got his additional 10% military discount. That brought it down to 112.50. Pretty good deal for what it is.

This light is battery operated, it runs on Milwaukee drill packs. Here it is running on a single pack, there is room for a double pack.

This “flashlight” has legs and a telescoping head!

The head swivels and can point straight up or down.

While he was here we constructed an AC power supply for it with an old dead Milwaukee pack we got at the Home Depot recycle bin and an old 19V laptop power supply we got from the bin at BestBuy.

We stripped the guts out of the battery pack and wired the leads from the laptop supply to the proper sockets in the pack.
Now, how many lumens?
The description says 2000, and that seems about right. Plenty of light for most indoor jobs.
As I mentioned, there are 10 of these. They look like XB-D’s

He was excited to get this, and for awhile it looked like he wouldn’t be able to get it on the plane for his return trip home.
But he did, Oh well.

Very impressive
Must be a replacement for those lead acid construction lamps i’ve seen before, unnamed Cree LEDs and $600 i think?
Based on the thread title i was expecting something closer to this meme

Bazooka hold and potato canon hold… :stuck_out_tongue:

It appears Bob is not very bright? :stuck_out_tongue:

That is one funky thing there!

Since the tripod collapses, they should go ahead and make interchangeable heads…
I’m thinking weed whacker, metal detector, maybe an artillery shell launcher.

Hi old friend dchomak!

I have no idea what it was until I scrolled to see the last few photos…

Hahaha what a light!
(At the beginning I thought, neveret Bob watch AvE videos on YouTube but ypi were just kidding  )

Thanks for brightening up my monday morning!

Hi friend!
So our paths cross again.

Errrr.
My friends’ name is Bob, the flashlight has no name.

Not to worry though, Unless this gets cross posted to “CrazyBigLightForum.com”. he’ll never see it.

HA HA! Fun post. The handheld poses are great, however, Mel Brooks would have has more fun with them.

Pretty cool looking work light. Thank you for reporting.

There must be something wrong with my monitor because I clearly see 12 emitters in your photo, dchomak:stuck_out_tongue:

Right you are!

That mistake was a plant, by me to make sure you were paying attention. A gold star for you, master altonx

What a coincidence! Today I was in Home Depot and it seems this light is a featured product for the Labor Day weekend.
Pretty good deal too. But the light at full list price of $250.00 and receive a universal charger and 5Ah battery for free.

Who will be the first to buy this light and do the multi XH-P70 mod?
