I’m looking to buy 4-7 of these centering rings for XPL sized package. I’ve found these work well as centering rings for the XP TIR optic from leddna. Anyone built a few X6 triples and have some of these lying around?
Do you have anything against buying them from china? Simon and BG sell them.

Yea you can packs of 10 from Simon from cheap. These same rings are used in the L2 and the C8 with XPLHI .
Thanks, but the rings I want are different from the rings mentioned above for convoy L2 and C8. I purchased some from Richard because the picture looks the same, but they are bigger and taller than the X6 centering rings. I could probably modify them to work, but the X6 rings work right out of the box.
Well if they are different from the ones Simon cells, I say go straight to the source. Try sending EE a message on Ali
Shave them down? I have EE X6 and mine are the same. But Simon did send different sizes some are wider then others but i just cut them with pliers.
I am pretty sure they are different. The convoy ones fit the L2 reflector which has a 9mm hole. The EE X6 reflector has a 8mm hole. They look the same but they are a different size and height.

Yea sorry mate i probably didn’t notice because i shave mine down so the reflector sits closer to the led.
I’m sure EE on Aliexpress will sell you some. I’ve bought extra X6 reflectors, extra X5 drivers, and extra XP-L HI LEDS from them and they gladly sell me spare parts.
does that spread or tighten the beam?
The beam stays the same i guess or maybe a little tighter. but you get more light because its a HI emitter these centering rings are to tall for the emitter so the reflector sits to high.

I have been considering offering a set of various sized 3D printed centering rings for awhile now. I have designs for several at this point. Including a simple XP to XM converter that allows you to use an XM centering ring with an XP LED.
It would be a little while before I could do this (if I did it at all, a fair amount of time and work involved with printing and packing all those little things) but would there be any interest in this? Price would be around $10 + shipping a set and come with something like 5x of each size for a total of 40-50 spacers. Or I could custom make them if needed for a bit extra.
I messaged eagle eye on aliexpress and they say they don’t have the rings. Anybody have some they can spare?
Texas_Ace, custom centering rings would definitely be useful for some projects. The 3D printed pieces work well?
Are these XP to 7mm?
It looks like the spacer used in the Jaxman M8, maybe you could try contacting them.
Probably also the same as the new convoy S2+ SMO reflector centering ring.
It is around 8mm. But the optic I want it for actually sits on the concave part of the plastic, rather than sitting around the lip.
Texas_Ace, what do you use as centering rings for your S2 sized TIRs?
Yes, I have had no problems with the 3D printed centering rings. I have them in a range of sizes at this point, mostly for XP sized LED’s but I also have an adapter to make an XP fit XM centering rings.
For the TIR’s it depends on the TIR I am using. I have a nice “ring” for the type that has the 4 pegs on the bottom that are meant to sit over an XM LED. The ones that are just a round hole I was actually planning on making up some kind of ring/adapter for them as my next project while building a high CRI XP-G3 5700k S2.
