MC3000 - Measuring residual charge in batteries

I purchased a new MC3000 a week ago and it’s not without issues.

Since my Win7 computer doesn’t recognize the device when plugged into the USB port the the MC3000 monitor software doesn’t work.
So my question: IS there a way to measure residual charge remaining in a used battery from the device itself?

As far as I can tell it only seems to measure the capacity that the battery receives from the charger.

pretty sure it displays that (“residual charge”) after a discharge… Try running the discharge function on your battery.

Haven’t got Win7, but the basic things to check are (1) good quality cable that can handle data, and try plugging into a USB 2.0 slot on your pc.
