most of you on the forum seem to know much about moding your lights. I have a question that is probably overly simple to you but
completely out of my realm. is there a relatively simple way to take a L3 illumination L10 or a eagtac d25a and convert them to run only on a single AA battery
with a single mode at max output for the eneloops that they would run on. I really could use advise. or should I find new light that is small AA that already is one mode?

There’s some discussion in this recent thread, on single-AA drivers:
I don’t know either of the lights you have, but if they have a standard clicky and use standard-sized drivers, a driver swap shouldn’t be a big deal and would get you something like you want.
A driver swap to a single AA boost driver can do that but max will be about 1A to the led. Kd, Dx, FT have them.
