Look like a genuine Akoray K-106 3-mode programmable?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Akoray-K-106-3-Mode-150-Lumens-LED-Flashlight-Torch-...

http://www.dinodirect.com/Akoray-K-106-3-Mode-150-Lumens-LED-AA-Battery-...

$15 seems suspiciously low for a a genuine Akoray K-106 3-mode programmable light. And they never used to have a GITD switch. And mine doesn't have www.akoray.com labelled on the barrel as these do in the picture. However, the color is darker than the cheaper 5-mode Akoray K-106, and appears to be the color of the original. What do you think?

The colour is probably just a different batch of dye. That ebay listing has to be a machine translation. Never heard strobe described as "Explosive" before. And dinodirect use the same term. Odd.

It could just be a high/low/strobe driver. But it might not be. I really could't hazard a guess either way.

Live support certainly has its uses.

Doesn't make much sense to me. It sounds like a wonderful infinite dimming system, but it's definitely not the same system that the traditional K-106 3-mode uses.

Sounds very similar to the system on the Solarforce Skyline. For general use this may be a better system. It actually makes the light more interesting to me.

So, did anyone order?

On a side note, akoray surely has the best homepage ever.

www.akoray.com.  Well, you can't accuse them of filling their page with a lot of fluff, unneccesary flash video, etc.

Why do I carry a flashlight?  Because half of every day is dark.

I guess that's all they want people to know about their lights. Laughing
