That looks great.

I wouldn’t buy one for the sake of buying one, but if I needed a replacement bezel I would definitely choose that over the original.

Thanks guys. All positives so far. Thumbs Up I sent Simon a few of these renderings too and I believe they have changed his mind. He said he’ll have a few samples made once CNY is over. I am extremely grateful to my friend for created these renderings for me. They allowed me to show Simon almost exactly what the finished product should look like. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Actually when a language barrier is thrown in I think the value of said picture goes even higher!

YES, I would definitely buy several of those…….. Thumbs Up

I think your friend did an excellent job of the “rendering” also. Wink

Like you said…. a picture is worth a thousand words, and in this case with the language barrier (as you mentioned); it may well be worth about ten thousand words …. Wink

I suppose I can give you a glimpse of what I’m proposing. As you know, the first prototype didn’t come out quite the way we hoped. Simon didn’t like it at all and wanted to just scrap the whole project. I think I may have him convinced to give it a second shot though. I knew I needed to help Simon see what I was envisioning so I asked a friend to help me create a “picture” of what I think the bezel should look like. He’s pretty decent with CAD models and rendering images from said models. Some of you may have seen my friend’s work before. Cool

Yes 3 of them!

That render looks awesome!~ Love Definitely dig the “brushed” look of it too.

If I ever get another C8, I’ll get it with Biscotti and this on the business end, even if I have to save up a month more to get it Thumbs Up

Keep in mind these renderings are just approximations of what we hope the finished product will look like. My guess is that it would not look quite as “brushed” as the rendering but I have no reason to believe it will be polished. If you look at the finish on the photos I posted of the first prototype, that should give us an indication of what the finished piece will look like.

The first one simon done is polish. If stainless isn’t polished it will look like the rendered picture.

I like it a lot!
This will radically change the C8 feel. Definitely higher end and classy.

…speaking of stainless steel, i would love to see a SS S2 too.

Actually, I am Polish but not necessarily polished. Silly
I’m fairly certain the “finish” on the new version would be just like the “finish” on the last prototype I posted so it should be quite lovely to look upon…

Don’t mean to be rude, but what is the current status on the SS bezel?

i like the non polish look. the convoy c8’s are matte black, so i think the bezel would look much better brushed.
do you think simon would give the early goer’s like us a discount? maybe a group buy, or a limited time order, or first 50-100?
$4 or even $5 would be pretty cool.

Sorry all, I know it’s been a long delay but such delays are part of being informed long before these things are even approved. I’ve spoken with Simon several times in just the last few days about the C8 SuperBezel. A small order is being placed for around 100 of these to be produced in the newly proposed design. I can’t make any promises on price. Convoy is a small business with slim profit margins so I will not ask Simon to sell these for any less than the price he sets. He is always very fair on his pricing though, as most if not all here would agree. Small runs of specialty items like this cost far more than runs with quantities in the thousands. If these come out the way we want and sell well, I imagine that we may be able to arrange a better price in the future.

Keep this in mind though…We are not just his first potential customers for a new product here. This is a product being produced specifically for us. I talked him into this on behalf of BLF when he didn’t even want to mess with stainless bezels because of high production cost and the fact that there has been no profit for stainless bezels in the past. Don’t get me wrong. I’m all about a deal too, but let’s just see how this first batch goes and take it from there.

6 dollars sounds extremely reasonable to me. Heck, if it were Nitecore, it would be 25. I think that brushed finish looks good with mat black as well. May even blast one with aluminum oxide to match the mat texture of the black.

Thanks Robert. Keep in mind on the “brushed” finish, I don’t know exactly how the end product will look. The picture I posted is not really a picture, just a very nicely done rendering by a friend. My guess is the end result will be a more “machined” look than a brushed look like the first Stainless samples he did. This one of course will just be way cooler looking than round one. If you end up tinkering with the finish by all means buddy post pictures. I don’t know exactly how long it will be before they’re available but I’m very excited to see how these come out. Cool

Oh and if small numbers are an issue, Simon could just make it the default, setting his C8 apart from the rest, more his own with that different design.

We think alike here my friend. Wink I recommended Simon take the new bezel style across the board for the same reason. Too many lookalike yet not necessarily equal C8 lights out there. Something to visually set Convoy apart is the way I want to go. We shall see…
