Driver recomendation

Can someone link a good boost driver for a 4 up Xpl_Hi , preferably 17mm ?
Are the few examples on aliexpress any good ? Lower than $10 US. Price is no object.

Would this work for me ?

(10+ Amp capable MOSFET 17mm LED driver)
http://asflashlights.com/-diy-parts/75-10-amp-capable-17mm-led-driver.html

And I’m guessing in parallel ? Or series ? Looking to run off of 1S 18650 or 26650. 2S if I have to.
And while we’re at it: a host recommendation ?
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Built 3 triples so far, learning as I go, but now I want a quad. Been carrying S3 triple 18350 daily since I built it and find it very useful at work, thought usually in the mid modes, but it literally lights up the whole warehouse when needed. So cool……
Gimme some help guys, since your the ones that got me “hooked”……

Uhhh, don't think you mean boost driver. A boost driver boosts voltage - that's not what the VOB driver does that you linked to. Boost drivers typically can't do high amps, which is what you would want.

Typical quads can be run with the LED's in parallel so you can run then with a FET based driver off of one cell.

This is one of the latest/greatest drivers out there off the shelf for XPL HI's in parallel: http://www.mtnelectronics.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=67&product_id=663

Actually I’d go with this: 17mm DrJones H17F Driver w/ lucidrv2 - 7135 + FET. I’ve bought 2 so far.
Led’s are in series, which is why the question. $21 mistake. I’ll find something to do with it……
Still learning. I’m just looking for something to use this quad in.

Boost driver for 12V (4 up XP-L) in 17mm? That’s definitely requires a custom design. Off-the-shelf they start only from 22mm.
And what’s the point?

Any particular reason the LEDs are in series? Can you run them parallel? If you can run them parallel, then you could use any number of FET drivers off of one 18650/26650. That would be a simpler route and still give the good results. If you ran the LEDs this way instead of series, then those drjones drivers would work perfectly.

What emitter/star board did you buy? It may just mean moving some jumpers to make them parallel? If you can reflow, you can just move the emitters over to a parallel board as well.

I actually went and added this to my wishlist with the guppy driver, spring and wires soldered. I have a few XP-L hi LEDs that I would like to try to do something with but at the moment I still need a good host too and want to attempt constructing my own drop in to boot. I’m new at all this stuff so I decided on pre-fit spring and soldered wires just to be as thorough as possible going in. I’m sure those things are no big deal to set to the driver but I like to get it already done and have a looksee first. Thanks for that clickable Tom E.
