$6.99 without gift box, $7.99 with.

Let me calculate this for you:
Basic SF-348 price (on sale): $4.49
+ a magnificent Nichia emitter: $3.98
+ modding work to swap the emitter: “nothing, I do it myself”
+ BLF engraving: “priceless!”
= $8.47 (without gift box, with ugly SF engraving)

=> GB savings $1.48 (yippee!) Smile

Edit: Here’s what the light does with ~10x more expensive emitter:

I’ll tell you why I an buying 20 more of these ( I already purchased 20 before this ) , Out of all of the lights I’ve shown people over the past few years , these simple , yet elegant lights are instantly popular .
For non-flashaholics , one mode and the use of a common battery are easy .

I EDC one of these at work .
My intention is to give some of them away as gifts . The rest I purchased for people I gave lights to that want to get some to give away to their friends .

What I do

I EDC one since they came out and have a spare for backup. They are a great little user friendly light for sure. I blue loc-tighted the bezels as they can back out over time and and 6 tiny pieces will disappear. I was lucky.

Oh… JTC, please put me on your Gift List ! Silly

I’m in for 10, non-engraved, with gift box.

What is the timing looking like? I figure it’s too late to have these in time for Christmas gifts this year. Sad

The only change I would personally care to see is an update to the same tint but in a 219C instead of 219B. Moore efficiency, lower VF, more lumens and easier for the boost driver to handle as well. That said I will still get some of the old version, they are great general lights for anyone.

Hope this isn’t a dumb-ass question, but what’re the spex for this light with the 219anything? Lumens, runtime, etc.? Reflector or TIR? 10440able?

I imagine this is rather different from the SF-348, but I’m not sure how much. Don’t recall seeing any spex for this bugger.

For some reason the major suppliers tend to only stock low CRI, cool white or 3000k LED’s.

Same reason most stores sell Bud and Coors instead of Dinkel-Acker, Warsteiner, and Killian’s.

Got lumen-hounds (and those who sell lights to ‘em) for the CW low-CRI chips, and incandescent-wannabe bulbs for the 2700K chips.

~50lm on AAA (suitable for general use), 150+lm on 10440 (initial >200lm – to be used only as short bursts, gets hot very quickly!)
>1h on AAA, ~20min on 10440
Reflector
10440able

They could do with a blob of thermal goo between pill and body tube.
Heat transfer is not a strong feature of the 348..

Nice, tnx!

50lm for a single alkie AAA is a screamer, I’d say!

Domari Nolo “I Refuse to be Subjugated” (1st Pennsylvania Regiment Flag) https://www.1stcontinentalregiment.org/blank
(Flagguys.com):..and man o man did they ever refuse to be subjugated. These guys were everywhere. They were important in Washington’s siege of Boston. They stayed behind and were the last to leave after covering the main army’s dangerous nick of time retreat from Long Island. They crossed the Delaware with Washington. They were “..at Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, and every major skirmish, and battle all the way to Yorktown..” where they fought “the most important part of the siege” according to General Steuben. These guys saw action in every one of the original 13 colonies.
