I am not at all happy with the XP-G3… the spill has terrible tint, in a smallish SMO reflector like the Olight S10R it has a terrible almost doughnut hole that is visible at 40 feet… just not happy with them. They are ok in the tiny Maratac lights but still not great.
Any G2 dropins ?
I would second KaiDomain… they have pretty good dropins.
I have actually had good luck with the XP-G3’s. I really like them myself.
The spill does have a bit of a tint shift but I only notice it when white wall hunting and even then it doesn’t bother me in most cases.
I have not have any donut hole issues, sounds like an issue with that particular reflector focus. That said they are about the same if not a bit worse for throw then an XP-L HD domed LED.
They are cheap and put out a lot of lumens though, I love them for cheap/small lights where I don’t want to spend $5 on an XP-L HI.
