Damn, looks like savages handled those packages!

I get “bruised” of damaged packets quite rarely.
From all orders they are maybe a couple of %. In most orders they dont matter at all (non-fragile).

Keeping a considerable amount of fingers now crossed, that the Head is not broken, it will arrive a bit later, maybe in 2 days. Tired

GT arrived in Belgium, completely f*cked packaging, it’s a wonder the head was still in the box, the manual is pulp too, but the light survived fine Smile

I can’t remember if we can download the manual somewhere ?

EDIT, found manual and support thread : http://budgetlightforum.com/node/57676

I’ve never seen or received such damaged and wet parcels… that’s quite extraordinary. It seems the belgium post has some underwater carriers? Or the parcels get conveyed through sewage pipes or something? Is there a smell? Facepalm

They can be damaged elsewhere also, who knows and most likely impossible to ever know it for certain.

There is no smell

Just received my GT and batteries a few minutes ago (via registered mail). It was packaged similar to the others who received it the last few days but the parcels were fine and had no trace of damage or moist. Btw, I giggled like a little girl the first time I picked up the light, it is HUGE Big Smile .

Nice to see them all turning up for you guys, even if the packaging was a bit pants. Sadly……

Try to move on and just enjoy the GT – pondering on the negative Angry is just going to impact on your positive Big Smile time with your new toy.
Get the batteries in, go out for a walk with the family/friends/dog and go out and enjoy what you’ve waited so long for, forget those wet boxes!

Just got one battery carrier, with 4 batteries. The second one is missing, will contact Neal.

17 years ago I worked at fed ex ground part time while in college. My first day on the sorting and truck loading line I came to a couple of well packaged parcels that were marked FRAGILE. I asked the supervisor if a different procedure was needed and he said no no those are going to the country of Fra grille and tossed them roughly into a truck. I smiled and got to work because speed was the only variable I needed to worry about. That company culture was ever present there and I have never knowingly used fedex since.

Mine arrived a couple of minutes ago! Jay!!!!
And there is more good news: no fingerprints on the lens or reflector, no bad ano spots, led very nicely centered, it works and the beam is perfect and has a great color.
I love 4000K!
.
Downsides?
.
Uhm…..yes, the packaging was so basic its a wonder it arrived without dents or scratches.
I got two seperate boxes, one containing the head and one containing the tube + batt. carriers.
The head was protected buy a plastic fil on the lens and threee pieves of thin foam between lens and cardboard box.
Around the rest of the light was only air, nothing else, nothing the keep it from moving around in the box……… Facepalm
.
The batt. tube was in a seperate box with only the orings and a small leaflet for protection…… Facepalm Facepalm
.
On top of that: both boxes had some heavy duty staples in them, of which the bare and quiitge sharp points wwere sticking out on
the inside of the boxes…………… Facepalm Facepalm Facepalm
.
But, luckily it still came to me in very good condition, I guess I was lucky, but this way to send the light from China to The Netherlands
is an absolute NO GO!!!! Evil Evil
It could have reached me with dents and scratches very easily.
.
OK, so now I’m going outside to play with my new toy. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
Very dark night with no fog at all. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
.

Cheers,
Nico

Why there isn’t a drop test video about registered 2 packages made? I know they were in a hurry before chinese new year but when they waited for reflectors earlyer they could have been do that.
Mine is in my country and I hope the best that mine doesn’t have scratches. For me a flashlight doesn’t even have scratches after 2 years of use. The GT will be most of the time on the shelf so even less chance to getting scratched.

I got two batt carriers and no batteries which is fine because I didn’t order batteries, just the light. Innocent

Anyway, the light is in very good shape and the performance is excellent, I am very happy right now.

BTW I mailded Martin and got two tracking numbers of which only one worked.
I got both packages today in one delivery though so all is good for me.

Glad you got yours too Nico Smile

My reflector has the clear machine marks too, but the led is centered and it throws a very clean spot. (from 6 meters on the wall: )

Hello Giancarlo, You are number [1192 & 1555] on the list, so in the 2 / 3 group, wait a few weeks, then you will get a message with the link to buy the GT.

Lumintop did the drop tests as agreed on the single boxes that were sent dhl. They originally only wanted to ship single packages through dhl. Only afterwards did they agree to ship some of the lights through various registered mail pathways only after we asked for that option. They did it as a favor to help reduce the fees associated with dhl shipping in some countries. They even attempted to set the value at what some members requested to hopefully slip by customs without incurring extra fees. I guess the answer to your question is that there were never any drop videos made of the two box shipping method because they were not asked to.

Let me get this straight; you are throwing accusations of bias based on some of the boxes shipped via registered mail being damaged but, as of yet, No actual damage to the flashlights. For some reason in your mind, there is a conspiracy to treat Europeans bad by Lumintop, and you think this can happen because the blf team isn’t respected. I thought that was wild enough, but then you post that you haven’t received your light, Hell you haven’t even paid for it. Why don’t you take a deep breath and relax until you get your pm to pay for your GT. All this crazy conspiracy talk is only making people nervous and giving TA something to respond to when you know that there is nothing he can do now, and even if he could, THERE HAS YET TO BE DAMAGE ANYWAY. I really don’t want to insult you, I just wanted to put your situation in context, and compared to the folks who have paid at the beginning of December and are still waiting, your situation is surely less dire.
You should write novels as have a great fantasy! Conspiracy? I just said two obvious simple things: those ridiculous packages show lack of care for the recipients and lack of respect for the BLF. Period. Despite those stupid packages, the lights arrived in good state anyway? Well, recipients were fortunate, but this doesn't cancel the lack of care of that people. Also, the fact that I have not still received my flashlight and not even paid for it, does not prevent me to say my opinion about the behavior of who made that packages. No conspiracy, relax, just a protest to the bad packages. I am sure that if you were one of the guys that received a bad package and maybe also a scratched flashlight you would not have written your post! LOL

I’m glad your light arrived undamaged. Today I picked up my two boxes. Both also in terrible condition. Dry on the outside but wet at the inside so I binned the manual. The body of the light was wrapped in a small thin piece of bubble plastic. The head just had some plastic foil and a piece of protective foam on the lens. No other padding or protection to avoid the head from moving around in the box. Unfortunately the rough journey from China to Belgium resulted in 2 small damages.

Except for the damage caused by rough handeling and poor packaging the head has a few tiny spots of missing anodizing. Apart from this machining and anodizing looks great! Under the right angle machining rings are visible in the reflector but nothing to worry about. Tint is a bit warm to my taste so I will swap the emitter for a cooler one. After all I’m happy with the light but not how they shipped itand certainly not with the damages. Facepalm

Anyway, big thumbs up for the team who made this possible. Thumbs Up

I have time to do a proper throw reading some time next week. And perhaps real beamshots

Well it seems that Santa was early in the Netherlands, because somebody rang my doorbell too. The pretty sturdy cardboard package was showing some signs of rough treatment, but that was all. And it was dry. On opening I noticed a minor ding on one of the cooling fins. But that was there before it went into the box, as there was no way that part of the head could get anywhere near the wall(s) of the box. BTW, because the staples are in the corners of the box(es), there was no danger of damaging the round item(s) inside.
So far so good. My 30Q’s are charging now. And then it’s time for some serious fooling around. Thanks, Team-Giggles!

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

ok thanks for the info. How much will retail cost @?

Also, can you or anyone reading this, give me any knowledgable feedback on trying to pick out a good flashlight?

My friend has the Pelican 7060 which has a good throw and bright light (white I think at about 4k )

I saw the Pelican 7600 which is 2 1/2 times the lumen and I think the throw was better.

I like that they are rechargeable 18650 with USB, water proof IPX8, and I believe they use theX-ld latest, ?

I am a newbie and still trying to understand and determine a great light at a fair price.

I have some properties I manage with large yards that have little or no light.

Also want to get another one or 2 lites for my family to use.

What do u think is a great value light?

I also saw this on ebay  https://www.ebay.com/itm/152760115591?var=452491596544&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true

you cab pick different packages of the same light. china made and not sure of quality and how they will last?

thaks so much!!!!
