EDIT: Well, I have absolutely no idea why the images don’t show up for me.
EDIT2: Ok, now they should work. Did nothing different, just uploaded somewhere else.
Peaches? Looks yummy
The difference isn’t too great to my eyes. Did you set the white balance to manual/auto?
The sm403 looks whiter than it actually is. Or was it the snow?
haha, those are apples. Probably not yummy anymore. Shot in RAW, if I set the white balance to 4000K this shot looks a bit too warm, to my eyes, on my screen. I agree the difference in a these shots isn’t that obvious as it is to my eyes, but I think even in these pics the reds look much better and realer with the Nichias.

I use 5600K with all my beamshots, no matter what CCT the flashlights are. It’s the closest white balance to the reality (in case with my Olympus OM-D EM5). Just to get same baseline.
Frozen apples….you can kill cats with that.

If you set the white balance (reference) to a lower K, I would expect a cooler picture?
I wonder about the big difference in tint between the Cute-3-M and the warmer Cute-3-SS. But imo They are both nice tints.

Yes, you’re correct. The WB in the first shot is set around 3400K.
You mean, you see a big difference in tint between the last two shots? Or is it something you found when playing with these lenses? I haven’t recognized a big difference in tint between the two. Note that these are two lights, I haven’t changed optics on the go. Cheers
Set to 3400K? No wonder they’re look so cold. What is your exact camera model? Did you remember the focal length used?
I will try to edit them with my DxO later

Hi Clemence,
I have a Nikon D7100 with just a 18-105 zoom (a bit lame, I know), these were all shot at 18mm. I can send you the RAW files if you’d like to play with them. I have tried lightroom and Capure One, but with these third party softwares I don’t get the colors that I get with Nikon ViewNX.

That would be great. Can you winrar them and put in a cloud drive? I’ll download and play with them. Just send me the link. Thanks
Great, the tint is so lovely, 3000k with a mind pink in it, exacly as it should be
You know, those emitters 3000k should be made a standart for blood tracing flashlights, i made a S2 with it and i can clearly see a drop of blood even on a pile of brown leaves at 5 meters in spite of my eyes arent as they were when i was 20, great R9 indeed
But with 5 or 7 steps you could end up with something more towards BBL (BelowBlackbodyLocus) like those sw45k 219B. With sm303 you could get less pink than sm305 though. It’s a matter of luck.

If you have the .RAW file you can easily adjust the WB to 5600K then re-convert it to JPEG. I’m curious to compare it to my Armytek Prime beamshot.

Aight, will do so.
Here’s the peaches:
It seems tinypic (what’s in a name…) downsizes everything over 1600 pixels, so it’s a bit smaller.
Anyway, white balance is now 5600 (was 3400).
@ Chouster: Jeroen already did it, you don’t have to send the RAW file to me.
Pic at the right side looks much better. We get the reds without altering the whites

Those 3.5k and 4k 3steppers are Imbalanced indeed, the tint has nothing to do with the KD ones, absoluteny nothing to do
Great emitters, especialy for high end DIY home spots!
