The ReyLight Custom-Lumintop Tool Ti is undoubtably the best AAA flashlight of 2016.
Light, strong and beautiful (like The One I gave it to). Nice tint, good intervals and capable of tailstanding.
Though not intended to be used as a survival light: the only minus-point is operating it with gloves on.
Maybe there can be a version with two tailcaps (2nd is protruding rubber, or magnetic) like the regular Tool has.
You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

1. what’s best or your favorite aaa flashlight in 2016, what’s the advantages and disadvantages about it?
I really like my Jetbeam JET-Mu, it looks great, is pretty easy to turn one one handed, puts out a good amount of light for it’s size, and doesn’t have any silly blinky modes. I only wish it had a reversible pocket clip so I could clip it to the brim of my cap.
2. what are the new features that you are looking forward to see for 2017 aaa flashlight?
Like I said above, I’d like to see reversible pocket clips and I’d also like to see more lights with high CRI leds.
1. My favourite AAA flashlight is Astrolux A01. Great design and performance, and quite cheap.
2. More colours (like copper – it is very nice), more CRI.

I would like more holders, attachments, brackets for smaller lights. They can be used as a universal hat light, headlamp, etc. – so I could attach random, smaller AAA lights to them.

1. what’s best or your favorite aaa flashlight in 2016, what’s the advantages and disadvantages about it.
Lumintop Tool.
The Good: Compact and Clicky.
2. what are the new features that you are looking forward to see for 2017 aaa flashlight
- High CRI
- Clicky
- Able to use 10440
1) The Lumintop Tool Ti, Rey version, pro’s: looks fantastic, lightweight and strong, great modes, start in low with no memory, great high CRI led. cons: it is AAA so runtime is lousy, driver is inefficient: high mode can be higher, low modes can have longer runtime.
2) a bit smaller than the Tool should be doable, but a switch is a must! no twisty. A 3500K 92 CRI Nichia 219C led would be perfect (for me that is). Build a high quality boost driver for AAA with current controlled modes (instead of PWM-ed modes) and good user interface, this is the biggest challenge for budget flashlight builders and it would be a first!

Jet-u (AAA). Small, well-made and 3 very useable levels. Nice price too !
Lights out! That's when things get interesting...
1 – My favorite AAA flashlight in 2016 is the small Convoy one AAA battery flashlight. It is a simple, small, robust, flashlight. Switchy, not clicky, so no risk of accidental activation. It lives in my pocket, so is always there when I need it.
2 – I would like a more neutral tint.
1. Olight I3E
2. High CRI LED

1. Astrolux A01
Advantages: to small, very nice price, to much colors and with strobe!
Disadvantages: not inlcuded Memory mode.
2. Needs a moonlight mode and memory mode.
1. I love my Olight I3S-Cu raw. I like:
the design, the material, the XP-L Led, tailstand, good clip, the hole for the ring (not disturb the tailstand), the power in high more than 150 lumens (then step to 90 lumens). Good distribution of modes (180-90/20/2 lumens). After the step you can cycle back to high mode and get good power again for new 3 minutes. the only that I do not like is the order mode: I prefer low, mid, high.
2. I would like:
- see configurable interface for choose the order modes: low/Mid/high or Hight/mid/low.
- will be great in a 1xaaa light some information about battery level
- I prefer a smooth reflector (all are orange peel) or at least the two options.
- I would like Neutral white option
- reversible clip, of course
- please, no disco modes for a 1xaaa (no sense on little light)
- compatible with NiMH and 10440
- no more than 3 or 4 modes.
- I would like also a interface style 2 modes, clicky, one mode with the head screw and other mode with the head a little unscrewed.
1. Olight I3s
Small, light and stands up well to key chain use.
Anodizing rubs off.
2. More lumens on high with nimh, like my ti3
1. what’s best or your favorite aaa flashlight in 2016, what’s the advantages and disadvantages about it
Lumintop copper tool
Advantage: Fantastic tint with high CRI
Disadvantage: doesn’t support 10440 batteries
2. what are the new features that you are looking forward to see for 2017 aaa flashlight
More lights with high CRI.
1. Astrolux A01 the best
2. moonlight mode
*1. what’s best or your favorite aaa flashlight in 2016, what’s the advantages and disadvantages about it? *
My favorite AAA flashlight in 2016 is the Lumintop Tool.
Advantages:
Light weight. Easy for everyday carry.
Small in size. Again, a plus for everyday carry.
Decent mode spacing at 5, 32, and 110 LM. (I would prefer a lower low, to be honest.)
No strobe modes, thank God.
Disadvantages:
Tint / low CRI. I’d love an affordable high CRI / Nichia version of this one.
Appearance. I’d prefer a lamp of this size to look a little less “tactical.”
No mode memory. (I want my EDC flashlight to come on in the mode I left it in, or always in low mode.)
Doesn’t tailstand.
*2. what are the new features that you are looking forward to see for 2017 aaa flashlight? *
I’m looking for an affordable, non-tactical-looking EDC torch with several well-spaced modes, no strobes and high CRI that can tailstand well.
1. Astrolux a01
2. More High cri lights
1. Best 1x AAA: Olight i3s eos (i.m.h.o.)
Because it’s very light weight, tiny, very pretty, starts on medium mode, has a usable moon mode, best twisty switch i know of. (but a little expensive and low CRI XP-G2)
2. Nichia 219C high CRI, more lumens in high mode.
