Sanyo NCR18650GA 3.6V 3500mAh

So I want to buy the above, probably 8 of them.
Being in the UK shipping kills buying from the likes of Mtn, IMR, Lion Wholesale etc
UK suppliers, if you can find one with stock, seem to want around $7-8 but Aliexpress are $5 including shipping so on 8 cells $16-$24 cheaper.
Before I go ahead & order do these look genuine Page Not Found - Aliexpress.com
What puts me off a little is this statement from the seller “,if the dispute opened by low capacity, we will not accept.”

i got mine from nkon and gearbest

Nkon has a good price currently:

I have ordered from both sellers and everything worked perfectly!
Gearbest has the GA´s for a realy good price (http://www.gearbest.com/batteries/pp_361930.html) . But you have to check the shipping costs. Some countries are problematic. Do not know if shipping Li-ion Batterys from China to UK is working (e.g. Fasttech is not shipping Li-ion Batterys to Germany).
If China is not an option i would buy at nkon.nl.

Inordered samsungs panasonic, AWT and Sanyo from Gearbest all are the real ones tested em for capacity and they perform well

Only one time they shipped me 26F instead of 30Qs probably a mistake from an employe, so I got 2 26F for free and they send the 30Qs without any problem, after I filed a support ticket with 1 sentence and a picture

I order always max. 4 batteries at once so they are below taxation minimum value

Yes from nkon they are $7 each with tax & shipping so about $16 dearer for 8.
Last time I checked on the nkon site they were out of stock but I will definitely consider nkon.

I ordered some from NKON for €4.59 a piece plus €9.19 shipping, that’s more than you will pay if you buy from China, but shipping is a lot faster.

Thing is I am getting these cells specifically for the Q8, which as that will not be available for several more months means that shipping time is not an issue, plus I generally get stuff from China in around 12-20 days & the nkon shipping is up to 3 weeks (although it does state that it should be around a week).
I just wanted to make sure I had suitable cells before the Q8 became available & wondered if anyone could confirm that the cells I linked to were genuine.
These GA”s are even cheaper http://www.gearbest.com/batteries/pp_361930.html at about $4.38 each delivered.
Does the top protrude enough on these to make contact ?

You can always add a 5x2mm brass pill soldering on top

Yes I know but I try to avoid soldering on cells if at all possible (bit paranoid about it I suppose).
I generally use a magnet or Jaxman connector if I need to turn a flat top into a button top but I know that that is not an option with the Q8.

If you heat up the brass button to above 500 C with a burner and add solderpaste to the cap and button, then place it on the cell

THEN RUNNNNN! RUN FOR YOUR LIIIIIIFE! WE’RE GONNA DIEEEEE!!!

(hehe, jk)

When you open a dispute based on the cells not being good they can have written all they want. f they claim 3500 (well we know ti is probably gonna measure 3250/3300 but that is close enough) and you get 2000mAh you also get a refund

OMG that tiny hot button will trigger a bomb?
Its safer than holding a high wattage solder iron for 15 seconds on it, but heating the top with it before you place the pill helps

Or just solder the pills in the lights

Which cell is Klarus rewrapping?

We are still awaiting for an answer as to whether the GAs will work OK in the Q8 with their factory raised top (i.e. no solder or buttons required).

I always put a generous solder blob on top.
It is thin nickel plated iron so it doesn’t conduct the heat to the actual rolled up cell.

Still of you heat it too slow the plastic spacer might melt and you short the cell

I don’t think they are made of plastic, because it could melt and cause serious problems.
Or maybe they’re heat resistant plastic.
Either way, it doesn’t get that hot around there because the top has only 3 or four ‘legs’ going that way.
And i use a hot soldering iron so it’s just 3 seconds.

They will if they protrude, they won’t if they don’t.
