The thing I’m most interested in is if they put the dies closer together, I’m presuming these are using the same flip chip tech they’ve been using on the XP-G3 and XP-L2 so maybe that makes it easier to position the dies closer and we’ll get better beams.

Indeed, looking at the pictures we have from the XHP50.2 it looks like they did indeed use this new tech.
Hopefully resulting in a more packed die, almost like the XHP35.
Curious about its increase in performance in both the lumen numbers and throw numbers. Also how to beam will look in a light.

If nothing else they most likely cover the entire surface with phosphor like the nichia 144A, that will drastically reduce the donut hole by itself.
If it is using 4x XP-G3 dies it is quite possible it could give the current gen XHP70 a run for it’s money and have a much more intense beam.
I did order a 3A one, if TA is not faster than me (I’m usually not that fast), I will test it to (almost ) death.
The 7C that I also ordered will get a nice destination in a flashlight.:-)

Is Kaidomain generally regarded for selling real cree LEDs? I ask because I noticed that they were the first to have the 2nd gen XPL that I was aware of, and didn’t know if they have some special deal with Cree or could possibly be selling knock-off leds in some cases? Anyone have good/bad experiences ordering brand new to the market leds from Kaidomain?
The XP-L2 was available at digikey, mouser and others a bit earlier IIRC but KD is pretty good at getting the newest LED’s quickly and in good bins as well.
I want one of those XHP50.2’s bad, just waiting for some of my lights to sell. Anyone need an old school 5X SRK with XM-L2’s (one of which is dedomed) running FET+1 V2 drivers with thermal regulation and making over 4000 lumens each?

I haven’t seen that one for sale. How much?

Talking about the SRK? I have basically given up trying to sell things on BLF, things just don’t sell for enough to make the work involved worth it. Generally sell them on craigslist.
The de-domed 5X sold already but I still have the domed version (which could be dedomed naturally).
lol, yeah that is the issue with selling flashlights that I found out real quick. You either have to lie or not sell something that appears worse then something they can get for $5 on ebay.
On craigslist you don’t get a lot of interest but when you do it is pretty simple to show why a light costs more, I keep a few stock ebay lights around for that reason.
i cancelled it.
3A is sold out, but would’ve been ‘cold’ enough for me to care less about CRI.
So they didn’t cancel it..
I was reminding them of the refund by email and then the order arrived in the mail…
KD fail on this one…
So now i have a XHP50.2 5A tint i don’t want…
They haven’t replied to my last mail, so i guess i’ll have to bother BanL about this..
Meanwhile i will order a 3A from Fasttech a.s.a.p.
The prices are pretty extreme from china for some reason. They should be $5 or less as that is what they are showing up for at digikey and arrow although they only have the 5700k+ tints right now. Waiting for some better tints to get in stock myself.
Just ordered last night 8 XP-L HI V5 emitters, some 1206 R120 resistors from Digi, XHP50 and 17mm FET driver for my C8 duel 18650 from Mountain electronics and finally a couple S1/BLF A6 A17DD-L FET+1 2.8-4.35v 7/4 Modes drivers and a couple BLF 16mm Copper MCPCBXPLXPEXPG Direct Thermal Path Circuit Boards from Banggood. Its play time, well in a couple weeks
Description says “high CRI” and i just ordered a 5A one.
Hmm.. 3A is sold out already..
The part number in the picture shows a “B” in the CRI section which is 70CRI. 80cri is H and 90cri is U.
I think the description is just a copy and paste from cree which shows that these leds are offered in high CRI.

I just went by the description.
Now i want to cancel the order actually…

Any updates on these? I just ordered qty 4 from KD - they seem to be in stock now.
Cutter is a better price, but shipping costs are nuts. Very frustrating dealing with them - LED's are pre-mounted, rarely return reply emails, etc.
I ordered 2 a while ago, they have not arrived yet. will report!

TA - call it "Military Grade", take a video of running one over by a truck, and say 75% OFF! Guaranteed you will sell out

Just got another one of these stupid emails... Bombarded with them, everyone is. Worse yet is when friends/family forward them to me...

I was finally about to order some XHP50.2 from Kaidomain, but they are still ~10 $.
Fasttech also sells them for ~8 $. Is it safe to buy LEDs there?
djozz, did they arrive by now? I’d love to see them tested!

I wonder, when the high cri versions will be available. According to the data sheet, there will be 90 cri up to 6000K!
Arrived three days ago, tested one and doing a quick write-up right now!
