Do you track delivery times for sellers?

Just wondering if anyone else tracks delivery time for different sellers? I’ve taken to making a spreadsheet of some of my recent orders to track delivery times.

Klarus XT11GT - Banggood - 14/11/16 —> 22/11/16 = 8 days
Klarus Mi7 - Gearbest - 15/11/16 —> 29/11/16 = 14 days
Klarus Mi7 - Gearbest - 21/11/16 —> 03/01/17 = 43 days FAILED - for a friend in Romania. The item was never delivered. 43rd day shows as failed at the post office.

Klarus XT12GT - Banggood - 15/12/16 —> 22/12/16 = 7 days
Klarus XT12GT - Banggood - 25/12/16 —> 04/01/17 = 10 days including Christmas and new year! (delivery to a friend in the UK)
BLF X5 - Banggood - 18/01/17 —> 25/01/17 = 7 days

Imalent DN70 (1) - Gearbest - 21/01/17 —> not arrived yet - my guess 31/01/17 (10 days)
Imalent DN70 (2) - Gearbest - 21/01/17 —> not arrived yet - my guess 03/02/17 (13 days… I’m being kind to them on this one) (delivery to a friend in the UK)
Klarus XT12GT - Banggood - 22/01/17 —> not arrived yet - my guess 27/01/17 (5 days)

Wow no I order and forget
Start inquiries after at least 40 days (or in case if AliExpress when I receive email and notification purchase protection is about to run out, leaving 5 days to sort things out, extend period or in case of no answer dispute)

After more than 4 years in this hobby and ordering online from several Chinese and even USA vendors, I have learned one sure and consistent thing:

Nothing is sure, the consistency of the inconsistency of shipping is sure.

So just sit back and relax, I have learned to be patient, for who can ever figure out why someone living in Asia has to have his parcel tracked through the Netherlands….from China.

Tracking is most of the time spot on, yet can be very frustrating.

That’s me. I never expect a delivery in less than 30 days, and only get rickety if it takes more than 60. Between these values, it’s “it’ll get here when it gets here”.

Less stress that way.

I’m a person who is happy to pay £80 a year or whatever it costs for Amazon prime just so I can have stuff straight away.

If they charged more so I could have it same day I’d do that too.

My other issue is I like numbers.

I couldn’t have kept track of stuff in the past because a few years ago I was ordering small bits and bobs from multiple sellers all over the place and was often getting a little yellow package once or twice a week. I kinda wish I did track those as I’d love to see the numbers!

I am amazed (not just flash lights) how well this works, sure it takes some time but most often you do get the item.
Have ordered recently from USA a headphone amp and it did eventually come but that one took almost as long as some small China stuff that I probably timed with some luck container wise.

The things that “burns” I go full bore on shipping

Also one “trick” is a good spread on orders, that way you have something fun in the mail in relatively short intervals
The guys at the post office know me by name since way back
Had a cheap AA flashlight Chinese “ordering spree” yesterday, no big money involved and many probably turns good enough to make for nice gifts but those will hit mailbox well spread out for a while

I put everything I buy into a list, regardless of price or source. then I can see how long it takes on average and when to expect similar products in the future. During Christmas/CNY there will be delays but otherwise it all works.

i monitored the first 200 orders from china very close

ten i decided to worry only after 30 days the first time and be happy if its faster ;)

@OP,
Forgot to say good and intresting posting.

Also did all those purchases originate/did get shipped out from the same country?
The Banggood (just recently made my first from there and have not got it get) have mostly very short delivery times.

I put all my orders in a spreadsheet, about 200 now, and record the time between paying and arriving. The average time for the big sellers (BG & GB) is three weeks. It varies between one week and seven weeks. I start worrying a bit after a month, but most things end well. So far I have recorded plenty of emails and PM’s, one re-send and three re-funds.
It is not a perfect world we’re living in, but it ain’t all bad either.

I do

That’s my boy! Tell me, did you feel your liver not burn as much after you decided that?

Well said and so true. An order from Fasttech a few weeks ago arrived in 7 days. Another order from FT, has been a month. Tracking says it cleared Chicago customs, and en-route to destination for 13 days now.

On BG I have been using the confirm delivery on items not tracked. Hasn’t been many but 30-32 days is about it.
Most of the time, points applied make up for more than the extra dollar or so to get better tracked shipping from BG or GB and worth it.

Tracked items through USPS from CN have not been showing when they arrive at ISC locations. Only showing Dispatched from…
Usually the ISC was the longest wait of the entire shipment time. When they did show arrival at ISC, it was 1-2 weeks until items Dispatch from ISC. USPS has been hiding this time by not scanning arrivals and only showing the Dispatch scans. This makes it look like the Longest part of the shipping time has been the arrival to the USA.

I don’t count the days but do check My USPS Dashboard daily. Get an idea what is going to arrive soon and what is arriving on a certain day. My local sorting center alone is 1-2 days for the out for delivery notification.

And for Amazon… this month has only been 50% success rate on the 2 day delivery. Have had 3-4 days too many times for the paid service.

Summary is the USPS has been the bottleneck for most of my tracked packages. Does not matter from which sellers. I have never received anything from Ali, BG or GB in less than 10 days. Generally 15 is too good to be true but 20-22 is what most tracked shipments take.

Well my Imalent DN70 is out for delivery today so that means 10 days for my one. I’m checking on another one that I didnt go for insurance/tracking on to see if that arrives today too.

I do the same, I love those small packages so I tend to order some little cheap things from time to time just so I have something to open when I’m back from work
