9x AA Cree XHP50 flashlight

Saw this at a local store here in Finland. Does anyone know which generic light model this is? Or what is the name of the brand that is used to sold it internationally? Haven´t found it from ebay, amazon, youtube or any google search. I would just like to see some reviews or videos before buying it. It really seems to have a real Cree XHP50 emitter inside it, compared a picture to it at the store and its 1:1 the same. And yes i know it´s AA and 19 Watt emitter, but with good rechargeable batteries i can stick 30Wh to it and it would not be my primary light, just curious about the XHP50 and the price of 30 euros/ 40 bucks.

hi, looks like it holds 3 x 3xAAA holders, maybe it would work with 3 x 26650 cells then.

If its rated 1250 OTF Lumens the driver will be at 40% of the max current of the XHP50, then its not much brighter than a XPL V6 @3A.

You may ask in the store if you are allowed to measure tailcap current.
if those 9 cells are in series you will measure the same current that the LED takes.
1A then it needs another driver, araound 2-2.5A a good powerful light.

I don´t think that would work because 3xAA has quite a bit more area than one C size or 26650 size battery.

I would simply buy a light that
drives the LED a bit over spec
on a DTP star,
has good mode spacing,
a nice UI,
a good tint and color,
a solid driver
and good mechanical build quality.

With 9 AAs I think the light has no battery carriers just a shape like this.

I guess it could be the average amount of lumens the light produces, the lights in the store have quite conservative lumen claims. Didn´t dare to ask about testing the light because finland. But got a picture of the emitter and it really seems to be a XHP50.

Thismay be not a XHP50
The emitter has no triangle markings and the dome is not clear, its a textured dome that blurr out the quad die
Not easy to see because of your image quality

If you look from the side in a 45degree angle you can see the textures and cut edges of a real Cree XHP50

Its a store, why not test a light before you buy it?

It is a Lumileds Luxeon M LED, apparently, because the picture is bad, surely it is not XHP50.

Ah i see, thanks for the answers luckily i didn´t buy it before doing some research. And i didn´t test it because the lamp was in a nuclear bomb proof plastic packaging thing. And the quality of the picture is bad because of the same reason.

Luxeon M
Run at 1.2A give around 1500 LED Lumens and 1300 OTF with highest flux bin

So the lights specs match that LED well

problem could be lenght but a few thick o rings or piece of cardboard should fill too large of diameter without a problem

Nitecore has the ea81 2000lumen xhp50 with 8xaa

reminds me of a similar light sold at walmart under the bushnell brand.
