What light for kids, what your kids use?

This Halloween -thread got my eye.

I have been wondering to get my boy a light. He is always keen on borrowing mine, but...

He´s 3 and a half years, so I´m not very pleased to lend my L2i for example because of 18650 in it + too bright.

He likes to take a light with him, when goes to sleep, play with it a while. I´m usually giving UF C3, but:

it´s function is getting a bit iffy + on Eneloops it gets hot on high (yes, he changes it to high always) and strobe is not a good idea... I load it with depleted alkalines to keep heat down.

Any ideas? I might have spoiled him already and think, that regular plastic incan 2xAA´s "just wont do..." :|

Ofcourse, not giving him one is always an option...

Kids love strobe. I want to buy a friends children ( 3 and 5 year olds) a light too. Any one got any suggestions less than $10

Has to be a Sipik SK68 clone, inexpensive, robust, no strobe but instead a zoom to play with. Never gets too hot even on new Alkalines. And its a light sabre in a dark room.

My kids each have two Inova X1s (one colored 1st Gen & one white 2nd Gen) The only potential issue is with the twist tail cap for constant on. My twins are 3 and manage it OK but YMMV. The momentary button is of course no problem.

the one my 3 yo uses is my romisen rc-c6 clone linked in my sig, it was $9. i let him go at it for 3days with 10440s in it, made for aa size but aaa size works too. still going strong. id recommend some sort of rechargeable no matter what you get for the lil one. right now hes had a energizer ultimate lithium aa and its been good a while. he loves that light

My 5 year old has a pink Preon 1 that she's had at least a year. Only light in the house that whines more than she does. :) Not recommended.

hahahaha that is great

Sipik has been one of their favourites. Just two days ago got 2 of them, I was fresh out for a while…
They used to like chasing the spot-dot moving around the floor. Maybe I sould sacrifice one of them to be beated. Just replace Eneloop or IMR  with a depleted alkaline… Just a bit too bright to be shined to your eyes with a new one

For the real young ones, they are using the old BLF DeLight, which you can no longer get in its original form, and the Coast $3.50 "free" light (US only).

Get him one of these. They are really low power (like 12 Lumen), they are a flashlight on one end and a giant glow tube on the other end. They run on 3AA batteries.

They also have one that cycles through different colors as it glows... http://www.ebay.com/itm/320717995074?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Sipik sk68, or a colorful flashlight like this.

A good idea is give them a "silver" flashlight because the black one i give to my niece has a "orange peel" effect on anodizing...

My boy is a little older,15, and has a C8 and a skyray p60 XML. His twin sister has a sand L2 XML and an F23.
