Budget Mag XL200 alternative?

I have the ultrafire version of the sipik 68, but I'd like something a little smoother for some uses. Is there any budget lights out there that would be similar to the Mag light XL 200?? It's got to be just about as bright. 18650, 14500, AA, AAA, it doesn't matter...

If you're looking for something compact and totally cylindrical:

Shiningbeam Mini has dimensions very similar to a Mag XL, a little bit smaller actually. i'd recommend that if you want to use a 18650 and don't mind paying a little extra. the XPG version actually costs about the same as an XL200.

if you want something cheaper and smaller, I recommend a Ultrafire M2, run it on a 14500, and pair it with the UF C3 holster. it's a great size and the form factor is one of my favorites.

if you want something even cheaper, I recommend the Trustfire F20 on Manafont and run it on a 14500. some TF F20's aren't so well made, but the one on Manafont is very well put together.

both the SB Mini and UF M2 should give a lot more overall output than an XL200 but the M2, with its smaller reflector, may not throw as far. i think the output and throw of the TF F20 on MF is comparable to an XL200.

Wow. Yes, that's what I'm thinking...

I like the looks of that M2. Do you know what the actual lumen level on it is? Oh and would it be brighter than my Sipik 68?

old4570's review might help. link to review.

What would be the best choice between these two?

the one on Manafont is, i think, a legit Ultrafire and the quality has been vetted by several BLF members.

the one on eBay that you linked to... i've never seen that one. that could be a real gem or a real piece of crap for all i know. sorry i can't be more helpful.

i'd go with Manafont. at least there you know what you're getting.
