Which (non-Olight) AA flashlight for Olight 14500's?

Hi folks,

I just got some Olight 14500’s (ref. ORB-145P07)

(See HKJ’s excellent review here Test/Review of Olight 14500 750mAh (Cyan) )

but I can’t get them to work with the AA flashlights I have (that accept 14500’s) :

- Thrunite T10 (2016 model)

  • JetBeam Jet-1 MK

The batteries are charged, tested with my XTAR VC2.
They will fit in the flashlights but no light comes out.

(notice the top is both larger in diameter, but less protruding than regular AA and NiMh)

So, with which flashlights do you use these batteries?

Except the Olight S1A, S2A flashlights, which I find a bit expensive :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks!

UPDATED : some lights that I now have and can confirm they will run with these batteries :

  • Klarus mi7
  • Sofirn SF10

klarus Mi7, with codes it can be had for 1/2 the price of the olights. I have the olight copper s1a and Mi7 titanium.

Thank you, I’ll have to check that one :+1:

Anything with a relatively low to medium current draw. Lights like the BLF X5/Astrolux S3 trip the protection circuit in the highest modes. I use mine in headlamps sometimes, but should probably just throw them out.

I have a feeling the Mi7 would trip the circuit as well.

I received my Klarus mi7 today, and yes, confirming that these Olight 14500’s do work with this light

Thanks again Whooda4

So was the final determination that:

- The other lights draw too many amp and trip the protection circuits?

OR

- The button tops on the Olight batteries are too recessed to work properly with some lights?

I think this is it (too recessed and too large), but I may be wrong!

Update : the Sofirn SF10 can fit these cells and run fine

I have the same model number battery, but it is a couple of years old (it came with the Olight S15R I bought).

It works fine in both my Thorfire TG06S and my Jetbeam Jet-1 MK.

Should work in the ReyLight Ti Lan.
