Recommendations for a 2xAA flashlight

Hi,
I am new here and this is my first post.
I am looking for a flashlight to fit in my belt holster that I got with my old mini-maglite
I am currently using this one and like it but they are out of stock here:

I am looking for a LED flashlight
-uses 2xAA batteries only
~0.8in diameter barrel so it will fit into my holster
-Cree Q5 led or BRIGHTER
–1 mode ON/OFF
Does this beast exist?
I have found something similar but it has a 5 mode switch shick I would find annoying to use.

Bonus points if it has “Flats” so it wont roll away when I set it down.
Thank you for any input!

You may want to consider Lumintop ED25 2xAA XM-L2 620lm.

I would concur with freeme’s excellent suggestion of Lumintop ED25. However, it is more than 1 mode. With a code, the price is fantastic. I got it as an emergency use light for places and times when there are only standard AA batteries available.

The Thrunite Archer 2A V3 will work as a single mode light if you want, the tail switch will only turn it on and off, $30 right now on amazon and can choose between cool white or neutral (I liked the design of the V2 better but can’t find it anywhere) This is a review of it:

There is also the Manker E12 that has a tail switch that I think is only on/off, but I haven’t seen any reviews of it.

This is a much cheaper option, Ultrafire C3 1 mode with extension (https://www.fasttech.com/products/1601/10000598/1057101-ultrafire-c3-1-mode-240-lumen-led-flashlight-w ) but it won’t be as bright as the others or as high quality so it may have machining defects, anodizing easily wears off, switch needs to be cleaned to work well, threads feel gritty, etc. Also I think its over 6 years old
What’s your price point? I’m not aware of many single mode AA lights except those with a side switch or twisting the head to change modes.

I had Ultrafire C3 and the rear spring go away. Also very thin metal corpus.
Do not recommend.

I would suggest a FourSevens Quark Click QK2A-X.

Why not a Mini Maglite Pro LED?

272 lumens and about the best performance you’ll get on alkaline AA’s. Plus if you are in the USA they are cheap to buy and easy to get. No waiting for shipping as you can likely pop down the street and get one from your local bricks & mortar store.

The high output 2AA lights are all fine, but will need Eneloop or other lsd NiMh cells to run properly on. And the high outputs often have limited runtime on 2AA and usually ramp down very quickly. Meaning they aren’t anywhere near as high output as the numbers claim.

The Mini Maglite Pro boasts 226 Lumens
The Mini Maglite Pro+ boasts 282 Lumens

Also not a fan of the C3…

What about a Hugsby XP-12?

eBay search

Maybe put an ad in the want to buy for a klarus p2a

The newest version of the Streamlight ProTac 2AA ;is programmable & can be set up for either single output or two modes (lo/hi).

Great suggestion! I have some Hugsby XP-1 and they are good solid 1-mode lights.

I got a Jaxman M2 and I am really liking it. :+1:
