Did anyone else buy the "blue" S2+ from Gearbest and find it was grey?

Nuff Said?

I ordered the “blue” (powder blue or cornflower blue NOT the bright metallic blue) that I first saw last month during GB’s big birthday bash. I didn’t need it but I didn’t have that color and the price was good so I did it anyway. I’m not color blind but the 1st light that’s supposed to be blue arrived today, the box says blue, the invoice says blue but this thing is grey. It looks exactly like the grey S2+ and grey S2 lights that I already have. I tied a knot in the lanyard just so that I wouldn’t get it mixed up with the ones I already have. I have another one coming in any day so I’m curious if it looks any different.

Did anyone else have this experience?

PS - The Gearbest link to the product from “My Orders” shows a grey light even though the title of both orders shows the color as “blue”. That makes me think they ran out of blue and started substituting the grey ones without letting us know. I understand that can happen but I’d expect them to give us the option to cancel or wait for the blue one to be restocked.

I ordered the exact same light, afaik. 3.33 $US during the flash sale and it clearly says blue on all documents.
Item hasn’t arrived yet so I’ll report back here once it shows up! been waiting for some time now… 10 items are outstanding from the birthday sales :-/

ps: look at the customer reviews, they all picture a IRL grey light. not blue.

I see that too, but during the promo it was definitely blue, not particularly attractive but not grey either. If it was just a typo that’d be fine. But the pics at the time were in sync with the typo so it’s even weirder.

for 3 bucks I didn’t care too much about the color. I was more worried about the pill which appeared “soldered in” and not screwed in like on newer models.

But let’s see, maybe the entire shipment won’t show up!

I ordered one on the 1st March (or 2nd) and forgot about it. I would tell you what colour it is but it hasnt arrived yet. 6 weeks+ delivery :frowning:
My guess is this wont ever turn up.

Has anybody on here actually received all/any/most of the Gearbest orders? On average it takes 19-24 days for items to get to me, but products I bought on Gearbest weeks after the birthday are already here.

None of my Gearbest birthday sales items have arrived and they are past 40 days now.

:frowning:

Out of the last 6 orders I’ve received 3 items. 2 of which I’ve had to get a refund via paypal for. This last light will go similar ways.

just google’d a bit about the gearbest birthday sales across other forums online. other users on forums also report items missing, but some were received. so let’s wait and see.
40+ days is really bad, even if the birthday had additional sales/shipments and more customers.

I get about 50% of the orders from Gearworst. They are a total joke. I broke down and ordered some knives but I’m pretty sure I won’t get them because the one I ordered from Fasttech arrived weeks ago and I placed the order within a couple of days of each other.

I have nobody to blame but myself. I know how poor Gearbest is and I still roll the dice.

I got one of the Blue/Grey S2’s.
I love the “matte bluegrey” finish

I agree that it can be dicey trying to gauge Chinese advertising practices, such as
is the photo a “representative photo”, etc— but luckily the color is IMHO a bit nicer than
what was pictured.

I think blue S2+ alway has metal switch and grey S2+ has rubber switch ?

Correct. Also, there is only one blue color Convoy offers. They grey is a bit of of a grey-blue but it’s not blue and the grey one has a black rubber switch boot.

The free shipping on GB is THE WORST. I order other stuff from China and get it sooner. I’ve been waiting 5+ weeks on a charger and they are telling me that I need to wait a full 2 months before they will do something about it. So, if the package is lost, I will have waited 2 months just to reship and then maybe have to wait another month??

However, the “Priority Line” shipping on GB seems to be reliable. I’m on the West Coast and get priority stuff in <=2 weeks and the tracking is good.

A few months back I received an email from GB asking if an order had arrived (it did)
So it seems order and forget got easier  now that they remind us.

Thanks for all of the responses, for myself I’m sure I’ll get everything I ordered. I’m just wondering what happened, did a batch of greys turn out weird or get boxed up wrong? Maybe something got lost in translation? GB will make things right for me (always do) but if these things exist I want one.

Did you go on GB’s website and see if they shipped it yet? I ordered a Y-Start knife, and about 3 weeks later I checked “my orders”, and saw it hadn’t shipped, yet is was still showing in stock. I emailed GB and a few days later got a reply saying they couldn’t ship knives to the US, and asked me if I wanted GB points instead. I said, “no, refund now. If I don’t get a refund within two days, I’m filing a PP dispute”. They refunded the next day. If I hadn’t checked on it, they would have never said anything and just swallowed my money.

I ordered it from Fasttech and received the knife in 8 days.

Everything ive ordered from bg and gb have come so far.
Worst was batterys from BG… 2months maybe.

I also ordered the convoy “blue” for 3$ or something like that combined with the more fast shipping

It arrived 2 weeks ago or so and it´s definitely more grey than blue, but the colour looks nice for me :+1:

On Banggood there is also a short tube listed, I think this must be the same colour

I agree with your assessment DrDevil, a very nice color indeed.
Personally for $3, I would not care if it came pink with green polka dots.

3$, that is a bargain!
I have ordered one more then 2 months ago for $8 and it didn’t arrive.
I must be the only fool that agreed resending the item for half the price…
They gave me a tracking number, but that doesnt seem to work either.
I have to admit that Gearbest’s shipping is poor. (Putting it mildly)
