I can tell you how to select a color sensor at lower prices.

In recent days I am thinking about how to select a color sensor at lower prices. Through carefully thinking, I turn out my own conclusions. On the other hand I searched some related materials and information about this topic. Today I come to this forum to turn to you to discuss my understandings are appropriate.

*Here are my personal understandings:

Color sensors have higher reliability for similar color and hue detection. It is colorimetric by measuring the reflectance of the three primary colors that make up the object’s color. Because of the high precision of this color detection method, the sensor can accurately distinguish between very similar colors, even the same color of different colors.
General sensors have red, green and blue light source. The three kinds of light are reflected by the target object after being transmitted through the same lens. The amount of light being reflected or absorbed depends on the color of the object.
The sensor has two measurement modes. One is to analyze the ratio of red, green and blue. Because the detection distance no matter how changes, can only cause changes in light intensity, and the proportion of the three colors of light will not change, so even when the target has mechanical vibration can also be detected.
The second mode is the use of red, green and blue three primary colors of the reflected light intensity to achieve the purpose of detection. With this mode, the detection of minute color discrimination can be achieved, but the sensor is affected by the target mechanical position. Regardless of the mode used, most sensors have a steering function that makes it very easy to set up. Most of these sensors have built-in charts and thresholds that can be used to determine operational characteristics.

As to this question, how to select color sensors, I have my personal point of views:

Color sensors have a variety of specifications and different performance, to select the correct sensor must understand the following aspects of the problem to analyze your application:
1, the purpose of the application?
2, the current power type? Exchange or DC? How much is the rated voltage?
3, the detection system to control what equipment? Transmission or inspection system?
4, what is the output load?
5, the requirements of the system how to work? With a number of parts per minute or conveyor speed.
6, the sensor can be installed and the target distance?
7, how is the environment? Including clean, dusty, hot, cold and other aspects of the situation.
8, how many rooms can be installed in the field sensor?
9, there are cost restrictions?
10, the size of the target object and shape how?
11, the target surface how? For example, shiny or scattered.
12, in the detection of the scene, the target object behind the background color?
13, how far is the distance from the target object?

Ps: Excuse me if I was wrong in words or expressions as I am a green hand in the field of color sensors. I need continual learnings.

What is your idea ? Do you agree with my ideas ? Any of your ideas would be highly appreciated.

May someone would like to help ?

thanks in advance
