The Nichia version says it should be in June 11th…I got the xpg 3 .. I was trying to see the difference between the 3 as I’m new to all the led names.. maybe you can explain the differences.. thanks

Both the XPG2 and XPG3 are made by Cree. 3 being the newer version than 2. The XPG’s in this light are around 6500k/Cool White (the colour temperature of the LED) .
219C is made by Nichia and the colour temperature is 5000k/Neutral White. Usually the warmer the colour the better CRI (Colour Rendering Index). Objects look how they are supposed to look.

Cooler colour temp LED usually produce more lumens but people on here pick CRI over an extra few lumens. Guess that’s why the Nichia version are always sold out before the cool white lights.

Thanks I’m trying to learn these led’s .. I know about the colors they produce by the k number .. I would of wanted the neutral white as well.. but I’m ok with the cool white I ordered too..I realized the 18650 tube doesn’t come with it and I have to wait for it to come back in stock.. I’m sure this has really really low run time on turbo with the 16340s ..

If I remember correctly. The S41 on a 18350 runs 8 mins on turbo lol
So this light would be somewhere similar

I had the extension tube in my cart two days ago. Went to add some other stuff to the cart. Went to pay and it was out of stock again. Annoyed at myself I wasn’t faster. Next time is comes back in stock. Buying it straight away lol

This S42 runs a 18350 battery, which is in the link you post, but the M3 runs a 16340 (smaller battery), a 18350 does not fit in there.

FWIW, more mAh does not necessarily mean more runtime on turbo, in high-powered lights like this. Batteries tend to come in either high-mAh or high-current varieties, and the high-current ones tend to perform better (and longer) on high modes even though their mAh rating is lower.

However, the high-mAh batteries (if they’re legit) should have more runtime at lower modes.

Effective capacity changes with the amount of current being pulled. This effect is smaller on the high-current cells though, and can give a high-current cell more effective capacity (relatively) if the current is high enough.

If a battery’s specs are unusually high, there is a good chance it’s fake. Normally if I saw “16340 with 1300mAh” I would expect it to be fake, since those don’t really exist yet. HKJ’s measurements suggest that one is only exaggerating a little though, making it the first 18350 with ~1200 mAh.

That’s interesting, I’m somewhat new to detailed info on lights ..I just thought mah would mean the more power it can store, so no matter if running turbo or low mode it would run longer then a battery with lower mah.. I need to look into this it’s interesting thanks for the info .. but sorry for getting off topic of the s42..

It depends, and the only way to get good numbers is to measure… but, fortunately, HKJ measured. Smile

On that particular cell, it looks like ~1170 mAh on low modes, ~1100 mAh on medium modes, and about ~1000 mAh on high/turbo. Which really isn’t bad at all.

On 18650 lights, it’s common for a 3000 mAh high-amp cell to last longer than a 3500 mAh high-capacity cell on turbo. The cells optimized for capacity tend to have much more voltage sag under load, and also much more capacity reduction under load, which makes them dimmer with output dropping faster… while the high-amp ones stay closer to their rated voltage and capacity.

Sometimes voltage sag can be a good thing though, like when direct-driving a Nichia 219c from an 18650 cell. A high-amp cell can fry the emitter, while an older saggier cell is safe to use. But this is kind of an unusual case.

Got to be quick. They sell almost instantly when they come back in stock. I got the XPG3 last night cause Nichia sold out before I could get it. XPG2 is still available but doubt anyone wants that.

I’m a bit confused….

Shouldn’t those who have pre ordered the Nichia variant be dealt with first? It seems that it is whoever is quickest to the button that succeeds in getting one? That sort of defeats the point of pre-ordering.

I wonder how many piece of ready stock that Banggood prepared for this group buy.

219C still on backorder for me. Order placed on May 16. It would be nice if they shipped out all the pre-orders before starting a new batch for the stainless and colored versions.

I don’t see any points given out either.

I preordered a Nichia on May 15. a few hours after M4dm4x sent his mail and it was shipped a few days ago yesterday.
I ordered an extension tube on the 1th, shipped the 2th
You should find points in your account in the point section there should be a history.

So for my first group buy it went well so far.

I am bit nervous cause its my first preordered lamp without any serious review. I would love to see a test from Maukka for this lamp, because there is one mention of CRI 90 https://forum.banggood.com/forum-topic-342295.html
(which I doupt) Also there was one follow up answer with “minimum 90” and that is removed.
And Banggood doesn’t advertise 90 CRI nor Manker does for the E14 II. Manker did it for the E14, so I think its a mistake.

I pre-ordered my Nichia on 17th May so I hope it may ship soon.

However, no sign of any BG points.
