Looks like a very nice light with a lot of good features going for it. After reading this thread, I’m still unclear on the specifics regarding the “fantastic” and “improved UI”. Is it still similar or exactly like the Thorfire S70S UI? My interest is heavily dependent on the UI. Thanks!
This thing looks amazing. I personally have absolutely no justification for owning such a monstrosity, but I know somebody who would love it. Which type of batteries would you need to get the most out of it? I’m not familiar with the different 26650s. Will it require button top batteries, or will flat tops also work? Trying to decide if it makes sense to go out and order batteries separately, or if the included batteries would be a good deal.
So put me down for one. May add batteries later, but undecided for now. Definitely want the holster, though.
Delta_V (OP reflector if XHP70, SMO if XHP70.2) (holster)
If it has the same internal anodisation of the tube as the S70 and S70S has, flat top cells with a magnet are safe to use.
I use the Liitokala 5000mAh flat tops in my L6, S70 and S70S (with a little magnet), tested good by BLFers and not expensive.
I haven’t read through all the 18 pages in this thread, so this might be answered already. But has it been discussed to use the XHP70.2 with less crosshair? MN
just a thought, why isn’t there as of yet such a flashlight in 2s2p 18650 format? wouldn’t that make it more compact while gaining a little capacity at 8.4v? even though the tube would become a little thicker probably.

What do you mean, there are already several like that.

Those lights are out there but it wouldn’t work for this light. Its a 12v emitter, so a 2s2p battery arrangement would require a boost driver and there’s no reason to take on that inefficiency when a 4s arrangement makes more sense.
Ugh, sorry, too many tabs open. I thought I was in the GT discussion thread…
The Haikelite MT07 and MT07S are two examples with 2S2P battery configurations, single XHP70, where the MT07 has a wider reflector and the MT07S a narrower reflector from the K70.
Thought so. How come there hasn’t been a 2s2p 18650 version of this flashlight yet i wonder, since it’d make it more edc-able.
Are you asking why hasn’t Thorfire made a 2s2p 18650 version?
You’d need to ask them. They may have calculated that their cost to build it would mean the final price would no be competitive and it wouldn’t sell well. Or maybe they are planning to build one right now. Who knows? Lol

Anyone know of a diffuser that might fit on this beast? Gotta find ONE practical use for it!
In for one SMO, plus holster. Please.
I’d like to be in for 1 plus holster please. Thanks!
if it’s not too late, put me in for one with holster please…and is there still an option for the batteries?
Thanks

isn’t this K70 a 2s 26650 though? Unless i’m mistaken, that’s what one of the pictures in the OP showed.
Yes, i’ve just ordered the MT07S with the coupon. 2 BLF edition lights and this one for me this year! Sure has been an illuminating one
Yes - this K70 is 2S of 26650's and should be a 6V XHP70 I would think, not 12V. An XHP70 could be done at either 6V or 12V though.

i have a dream that one day…. lol it’s all in their hands
Cannot resist any longer. Please put me in for 1 plus a holster. Hopefully this drags on a little longer so I have time to play with my Q8!
I’d like mine (#32) with smooth reflector and holster if possible. Thanks.
Interested in one with an orange peel reflector and spare smooth reflector. Thus light will look good standing next to the Q8.
