(Sold) 3x de-domed XHP-70 BLF Driver Low resistance FET DD

Dropping the price to $100 and that includes shipping in the US $90 plus exact shipping for everyone else. This is the lowest I'll go on this light.

Up for sale today is another one of my diving lights. I bought five of them to get a lower price and this is the second to last one that I have. I'll probably keep the last one for myself, so this might be the last one I offer up for sale.

These lights change modes by twisting the tailcap so simple modes are best. It's got three modes, Low (which is actually pretty low), medium which is actually Very Bright, and Turbo which is crazy bright.

For a driver it has a BLF direct drive with a low resistance FET. Because it's a "direct drive" the output will depend a lot on the batteries you use. It's got heavy wires but even so, it will handle very high amp batteries with no problem at all and that's what I run mine with. But it will also work with any set of well matched high quality batteries including 18650's. It will come with the adapters.

The emitters are de-domed XHP-70's and they are on sinkpads.

The light is not "light" it weighs in at just under 2 pounds when loaded with 2x2650's.

The tailcap was modded using thick silver braid.

$125 including free shipping in the US of A

$115 and exact shipping for for everyone else. (No "handling" charges)

I will accept returns for Any Reason within 15 days, no excuse needed or wanted (lol) Absolutely NO Partial Refunds for Any Reason. The light pictured below is exactly the one you will receive. I try to ship the next business day after payment. I ship USPS priority mail for domestic and First Class shipping for overseas. (first class shipping for overseas is actually fairly quick and reasonably priced)

This is the light that I planned to keep for myself, but I've got one coming back and I'll probably end up keeping that one. This one is lightly used as you can see in the pictures.

As always the first PM gets the light.

Ps. It's bigger than it looks in the picture where I'm holding it. (My hands are kind of big) The reflector is actually about the same size a SRK. Might be the same reflector that is used for them actually.

Another well modded light 18sixfifty.

If I ever get lucky enough to come into some money your gonna have to build me something like this

Well I’m not building to order anymore, it was just too much for me to take on and it kinda took the fun out of it too. But I’ll keep you in mind and if you ever do get flush with cash let me know and I’ll tell you what I have available. If you ever get into modding you can always PM me and I’ll gladly take the time to talk you through it step by step. I always enjoy helping people learn to mod and make lights they can really be proud of. For me modding is really the most fun and rewarding part of the hobby. But be warned learning to mod is addicting big time. :smiling_imp:

Thanks Steve, it’s a beast for sure. I remember when we were first trying to find a way to make these big triples, back before the FET drivers came along. MT-G2’s mostly. I can’t tell you how many drivers I fried. Hats off to the great members here who made these possible. What a game changer that was. Cudos maximus to everyone involved.

Thanks maybe next years tax season, I mostly have single emitter lights. I have one x6 triple with v6 3d emitters I did a trade for. Don’t have any monster triples. They would work great at the park though.

I still have a lot to learn I can do very basic modding. Led and driver swaps, spring bypasses. I’ve put a couple c8s together and x6. But besides easily to put together lights like that I don’t have experience. Still only have basic tools. Soldering iron 40watt Weller. Pliers. Tweezers, $4 dmm which is good for checking voltages not good for current readings. I need to try with some house wiring. I eventually need to invest in some files and sandpaper. I havnt had to shave down anything yet, one day I’ll probably try something more complicated. I can’t afford to burn up drivers and such.
I am going to try to reflow a couple LEDs next week and see how that goes. Have some paste and stars on order from Richard. I have a couple 90+cri 5000k 219c I’d like to put in something. A nitenumen ne01 and give to my father since its USB rechargable he wouldnt deal with a separate charger for a flashlight and they only run at a couple amps and have thermal regulation. And maybe one in a x6 for me to use. Thought about a s2 I just don’t care for them so much. They just get hot to quickly. I can run a x6/c8 at 4+ amps and never get to hot hold.

Now soldering on drivers/resistors not comfortable trying yet. Maybe with solder paste it would be doable. Maybe i can try stacking chips on a old driver at some point. I would like to resistor mod a couple lights I have.

I’ll definitely hit you up if I need some help/advice with something.

Sounds like you have a good start to modding right there. These big mods are not that difficult really. It’s the same basic stuff. I started with a weller too and it served me well until I realized I was going through tips fast enough to warrant buying a better one. Solder paste does make things a lot easier that’s for sure and resistor mods are pretty simple although I personally hate doing the AMC chips in stacks. The regular surface mount ones are a breeze and a cheap heating gun is what I use most of the time. This is the one I use actually.

And definitely feel free to pick my brain anytime you want and I’ll do my best to help out.

Thanks, that’s not bad. When I get a chance I’ll have to add that to my flashlight tools. I didn’t think a hot air gun was around 10 dollars. That might work out good for resistors whenever I get up to that. I have a s70 that I’d like to do the resistor mod to bump the current on.

The Weller iron works great, but it was a pain to find the right tips for it. It seems each wattage of Weller irons use a different kind of tip.

For me it seems like getting everything focused takes much much longer then the build does.

But anyway thanks I don’t want to clog your sale thread up

Just spent all my money on parts and still need more. Price dropped so I can buy more parts to mod more lights to sell so I can buy more hosts to mod for sale so I can buy more parts.

I might need some professional help.(lol)

That sounds like a merry go round.

Price dropped to the lowest I’ll go.
