OK SB, time to get rid of that dinky tube light in your picture and replace it with a picture of this masterpiece. Steve is the finest flashlight machinist on the planet, period.

Of course you’re absolutely correct. Blushing Let’s just say that my little avatar is a reflection of my flashlight expertise compared the GIANTS that surround me here on BLF. Beer

zelee, that reflector is from Illuminations Machines, called the Lum 5-90. It means it’s a 5º half angle and 90mm diameter. I’ve had one in my Olight SR-90 Intimidator for a while now around the XHP-70 in a high CRI daylight white that is just too splendid. Tighter hot spot than one might think too, really well done and perfectly at home in this creation of Steve’s as thought out by Justin. The collaboration is stunning…

Steve,

Words cannot express how deeply your making this light has touched my heart. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I am so excited to see it develop.
Do you have any plans of it afterwards? Personally, I would like you to either keep it for yourself, or give it to sb56637, our forum owner. Either way, it’s just my thoughts. It will be one of your best and I so love your work with knurling and the style of your lights.

Thank you,
Justin

Not only is that a stunningly skilled piece of hand-crafted lumenart but a beautiful tribute to another master-craftsman who inspired so many.

MRsDNF, you are truly a blessing to this community and there is no more fitting a recipient of a gift like this than the one who gave us all an online forum to call home. Thumbs Up

Didn’t know what to say, hence the “…” But J-Dub74 says it right!

OMG.. So beautiful, just completely breath taking, and I wouldn’t be able to think of a more fitting recipient than you SB
MrsDNF you are truly a master craftsman, you have always inspired me to at least try to build in the best way I am able and then I push even harder to improve when I see what is possible.
Just an amazingly beautiful tribute, just the wow factor is overwhelming, thank you SB for sharing this with us all, wow…

Sorry for the short post previously. I miss Justin today as much as when he left us and emotions can get in the way.
It was Justins wish that this light went to sb which I have copied his pm to me above to show everyone this.
He loved this forum and the members here that made it so enjoyable here for him.
From me also, thanks sb.

Old lumens is gone but will never be forgotten.
MRsDNF is amazing in many ways. It’s good people like him that make this forum such a nice community.
I’m glad you got this beautiful piece of art, from the mind of OL, and from the hands of MRsDNF.
Thanks SB for creating this awesome place.

Looks like the circle is closed.
The Inspirator, the Machinist and the Administrator.
No need for an extended version or the director’s cut.

PS. I too think someone needs a new avatar.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

Thanks so much to everyone that expressed their sentiments here. MRsDNF has really truly struck a chord with everyone here, I’m sure. Just when you think that people in the world can’t get any worse, these huge acts of kindness really do restore one’s faith in humanity.
