18650 with micro-usb charge

I found a few examples

Fenix ARB-L18-2600U
Fenix ARB-L18-3500U
Nitecore NL1834R
Lumintop LM34C

pretty hefty price as compared to bare cells but the features is something I couldn’t avoid.
I’d be running them off a standard Convoy S2 XP-L HI 2800ma so all cells are more than adequate.

From what I see is Lumintop is the cheapest offer sold by banggood but always out of stock.
I had no other info bout the fenix and nitecore other than they are available locally in my country so…

Any good with these cells with the charger? I heard the lumintop tends to slightly overcharge them?

  • Nitecore MH (Multitask Hybrid Series)
  • Eagle Eye X2R/ X5R

honestly not too interested in buying a new light. just the batts.
But thanks for the suggestion. If i ever getting one I’d go for Zanflare F1

The MH series from nitecore, and the R40 too.

Wowtac/Atactical ships those with their lights. The A1 and A2 ship with a 2600mAh cell and the A1S and A2S ship with a 3400mAh cell. There was a reddit post a while ago about the 3400mAh cell getting hot while charging.

HKJ tested the MecArmy cell and the Lumiuntop cell, and disassembled both of them.

saw HKJ review about the Lumintop which is why I’m interested.
Totally missed out the Mecarmy one. Hope I can find one with good deal

Why bother with a limited choice of expensive cells with onboard charging?
You still need to pull the cell out of the light to charge it… A single $4 Lii100 charger will work off an USB source and let you charge any cell… and work as a power bank if need be.

Anyone seen the charging board like in the Lumintop cells available separately?

if it’s seperated, then why not buy Olight UC

Do you have a link for this?

Thanks.

Here you are, it can charge many type of battery, small and portable

Ah, yes I’ve seen that one.

I’m looking for just the charging circuit board with micro USB port, to use inside a light.

I’ve been thoroughly searching the Chinese sites ever since these batteries came out and have not been able to find the circuit board sold separately. If you do find it please let us know.

Go crazy…

What I’ve done is gotten a “lipstick” type power-pack (18650+module) and just desoldered the module.

That way I know it works, I got the plastic doodad that fits the module, and I got a nifty cylindrical case for 18350+laser or whatnot.

Hmm. The round ones I just saw are bluetoof, not for charging.

Thought I saw something like that in FT… maybe not.

Mecarmy PT-18 has onboard charging. OR you can remove the battery and use a charger.
the light takes normal 18650 cells, not proprietary, you can use any cell you want

heads among the different body types are interchangeable. On sale 30% off with code blacknovember here

Basically for $51 you get a 1000 Lumen Tripple with battery and charger included.

fwiw, there IS an proprietary battery offered, it has the usb charger disk built into the battery itself:

I already have a “host”, which is the infamous S42.

I had planned to replace the driver with a BLF style one, & mate the onboard charging to it. Unfortunately, I damaged the charging board when I was removing the driver.

That’s not a bad idea, however, I caved & ordered the Lumintop battery - at least you get a good cell with it!

Ya, ft doesn’t have the round ones. There is one board out there that is small enough to fit but it is like 7-8$ so like was said it’s best to just buy a cell with micro chargeing and take it apart. I’ve done this once thus far.

I already designed my own pcb and I have all the parts, I just have not gotten around to uploading to oshpark for order. I really need to get around to that.

Any news?
