Fenix HL23 Headlamp

Since I have spent a fair amount of time complaining about the tints of my former Fenix products I need to post this. Upon receiving my headlamp from Fenix in Co. I was a bit trepidatious about trying it out. When I turned it on it produced a beautiful neutral tint beam with absolutely no green hue. It is comfortable to wear and not heavy. Well done Fenix.

Yes it has nice tint, I also have one in golden bezel color.
I’m thinking about replacing the stock lens with frosted or TIR one.

Super cool coincidence regarding the serial number for my new headlamp. The last three numbers are 264. Maybe I will take a photo of it later.

I’ve owned the HL20 and HL21 headlamps, which are pretty good. No PWM, Good mode spearation. I’ve wanted to get one of these but the $34 price kept me away. (Not like I need a new headlamp anyhow. lol.)

I used a discount code I got for signing up on the U.S Fenix website. Thought about the HL20 & HL21 for years. It would be nice if the HL23 had mode memory and started on low but the world is not a perfect place. I used it tonight on a walk. Nice bright and super floody. Easy to use and not heavy. So far a winner.

Way to go Fenix. My new E12 has great tint.

My LD01 R4 has a great tint as well. Out of the 6 other Fenix’s I have, that is the only one that impresses me. The E21 (the 170-lumen 2 mode XP-E one) is a close second.

Not bad illumination considering the AA battery was almost completely depleted after 1 1/2 hours of use in the HL23. Image was taken in absolute darkness except for the HL23 being used. Cell phone image.
